Every time an allegation of rape is made the suspect is arrested and handcuffed, taken to a police station and have their fingerprints taken.

What other crime can cause an automatic arrest based on a simple allegation? Serious question.

I understand they don't charge you unless they have evidence, but they shouldn't even be able to arrest you and take you the police station for fingerprinting without it. It's amazing that you can use the police as a proxy to essentially kidnap and detain someone so easily.

a few things:

If rape claims are shown to be invented, police have the power to prosecute the person who made the claim for wasting police time.

this little gem. i haven't researched it thoroughly, but it does seem that the UK prosecutes false rape claims more often than the US, which is good. however, doing it because it wastes police time means they're doing it (mostly) wrong. it should be prosecuted because it has ruined someone's life!

also, i know that much of the outrage regarding false rape claims revolves around the fact that it damages someone's life emotionally, mentally, financially, etc. however, what also really pisses me off is that these people completely water down rape which is a very serious crime. this is almost as annoying as the ever expanding definition of rape (at least here in the US). people are taking away the seriousness of it. for that they should be prosecuted. i feel that false rape claims make it impossible for real victims to be taken seriously. ugh.

First of all, there is no reason why this article needed to mention that the lady in question was trans. They don't mention her skin colour or precise age or sexuality, do they? But they mention she's trans because that gets people to read the story. Bloody Daily Mail.

Secondly, it doesn't say anywhere that any of the claims made were false. We have no reason to believe this woman is lying.

Thirdly, so what if it costs money for the police to investigate? That's the job of the police, to investigate crime! They can't just stop investigating because it's costing a lot of money.

Fourthly, let's just say this woman was lying about all her rape accusations. We don't know she has, but let's deal with a hypothetical here. Now let's say that she is actually raped one day, and goes to report the rape. Should she be ignored and her rapist allowed to escape justice just because she lied? (Hint: No) Add in the fact we don't even know if she was lying and have no reason to suspect she was, and ignoring her future claims would be even more despicable.

I suspect a few more criminals run free while scarce police resources are chasing false claims.

That's the way feminists, and politicians who court their vote, want it.

The obvious remedy is to prosecute false claims.

Either prosecute every false claim, or just get some judge to declare that after so many false claims any subsequent ones will be summarily ignored. Sucks if she really is raped at some point, but after crying wolf too often I think there should be consequences.

(1) WTF did "transWoman" have to do with it, fuckers?

(2) so is there or is there not evidence that the woman is making up false rape claims? I can't believe the entire article is written without saying this even once. Sure it hints around.

(2a) if there was evidence she was making it up then - why not mention it? why not ask why are the police not prosecuting? Why not at a minimum tell the public who this menace is?

(2b) if on the other hand there's no such evidence, then why no discussion of WHY this woman keeps reporting rape? Why the creepy hinting around that she shouldn't be believed if in fact there's no evidence she's anything but a 20-times over victim?

Feminists get outraged when someone implies that some women are just asking to get raped, but come on, this is ridiculous. I mean, 19 times in 10 years? And the last time she was "raped" after she agreed to have sex with a stranger from online dating site? How is this not just her being displeased with the guy? Or, wild guess here, she's actually a prostitute and what she does here is just accusing men of rape if they don't pay her as much as she asks.
