For everybody wondering what went on:

He complained in SRS about somebody calling themselves ICumWhenIKillMen.
They banned him.
He posted that complaint over here.
It was removed quickly by the mods because linking to SRS is forbidden (don't feed the trolls).
SRS linked to it several times.
The entire thread was basically a mob of SRS goons attacking him for hours.
He decided to troll them back for hours.
Everybody escalated.
He posted terrible things, which is exactly what they wanted.
SRS then spread direct links to the terrible stuff throughout Reddit, omitting context (good comment on the context for what he was saying).
He makes a video about it.
He starts regretting losing his temper.
The rest of the Internet starts to notice.
He deletes his account.

Meanwhile, people elsewhere on Reddit are using it as an example of those nasty MRAs hating women, despite the fact that because it was removed so quickly, virtually nobody here even saw it.

This is why you don't feed the trolls. It's also a good reason why the SRS crowd should be banned from here if all they post is hate (a few of them were reasonable, but wow, what a pile of shit from the rest).

On a side note, because it was removed so quickly, normal voting by /r/MensRights regulars was essentially negligible. The voting that remains is solid evidence that SRS fucks with votes.

Here's the funny part, those same people call MRA's a bunch of hetero-normative conservative Christian males intent on bringing back the old days. This guy is a bi-sexual, loudly atheist combative liberal. He is one of their own and its HILARIOUS that they are using him as an example of "bad MRA's".

This guy has always been a loud, obnoxious doucheloaf who used the vlog format to set up straw men, then rant for ten minutes about how stupid all conservatives and Christians are. That's why he couldn't defend himself or debate in any meaningful way, he is used to shouting in a one-sided conversation and being adored by middle schoolers on youtube.

TAA isn't an MRA at all, never has been. He is a half-baked internet celebrity who picked a stupid fight within people of his own ideology and was made a fool of. As far as him threatening to rape a woman online, let's note that it was a liberal atheist that did so. He is probably on the same page with 99.5% of what SRS stands for, excepting how he views some gender issues.

In the end, sitting back and watching one group of liberal atheist nutters, attack and lionize another liberal atheist nutter is pure deliciousness. In a very small way, it feels like watching evolution in action, since the end result is one less SRS-type on the internet.

TAA made a comment in SRS trying to highlight the hypocrisy of getting pissed over someone's username, then embracing someone named "icumwhenikillmen". They proceeded to make fun of his penis-size (based on the nude pictures which were released a little while ago). He decided to share his observations re the hypocrisy with r/MR...and it was promptly deleted because linking to SRS is against the rules. SRS found it immediately and linked to it in all of their subreddits. As one would expect, yhey invaded and started harassing the fuck out of him.

Being a dumbass, he decided to respond to their harassment by arguing with them. At some point "triggering" came up, and being that he doesn't believe in triggering, he took it upon himself to write comments they would label "triggering" to "prove" that his words wouldn't lead to some PTSD episode. In reality, I think he was just pissed and wanted to hurt the people who were harassing him, but whatever. Anyway, this culminated in him saying some pretty awful things to someone who claimed to be a rape victim.

SRS collectively orgasmed when they realized they could use this incident to attack someone's career, so they promptly went around spamming the conversation anywhere they could (at least 3 times in r/atheism). At some point, he realized he went overboard and tried to apologize to the SRS-rape-victim via PM (who apparently is a male victim of a female rapist, BTW). That person then refused to accept his apology unless he did it publicly. He refused, that person then shared the private messages with SRS. SRS kept harassing him, and he eventually deleted his reddit account. Oh and he made some fairly over-dramatic video about "arguing with feminists online"...which, as I'm sure you can imagine, also made SRS collectively cream their pants. Oh, and PZ Meyers, Grand Exalted Poobah of internet whiners everywhere, decided to write his own one-sided article about the whole thing.

That's basically what happened. He's an idiot for engaging them when they're in attack formation, and an asshole for trying to trigger a rape-victim (even if he doesn't believe in triggering), and they're hateful assholes for harassing him, especially after it was clear that he wasn't handling it like a big boy. I'll still watch his videos...but after the way he acted, I can't say I have very much respect for him right now.

Well, of course it's offensive. It's emotionally difficult to say anything critical of the character of people who commit suicide, because attacks on their character are often what do them in. It's similarly emotionally difficult to accept hearing it.

But the point is that we often hail them for dealing courageously with something they plainly didn't. If anything, it's cowardly to choose to cease to exist in the face of your problems. Recognizing this is a far cry from endorsing or making light of the abuse they suffered, or mocking how much pain they were in. The suicidal may be cowardly, but their bullies are often damn near psychopathic. You don't taunt people who may seem so weak on the basis that they are weak—but being dead doesn't change the fact that they were, either.

Perhaps more to the point: I can certainly think of situations in which I would choose to commit suicide, but I don't think for a second that it wouldn't be cowardly for me to do so.

Emotions and the impulses they drive are like that. They don't tend to give a shit what you know to be rational.

Obviously you've never looked at my history. I've tried to kill myself multiple times, so your assessment of me as cowardly is right about to piss me off.

You likely have no idea what it takes to attempt to take your life and you likely have no idea the effects that follow failing to succeed. So, you might want to ask someone who knows before making assumptions about their character or emotional strength. The idea that's it's cowardly when almost every fears death is just short sighted. I wouldn't say it's either courageous or cowardly. I find the idea of making these people heroes or martyrs insulting. It's not a rational choice, but it's also not something most people would have the courage to try seriously. It's not an act that should be given status or seen as acceptable especially for the young, often dumb, shortsighted youth. Suicide is an act of desperation, an escape. But, it's also not always the wrong choice.
