Othompson can tell you about this as well, after 9/11 with the spate of radical islam the Scotland after our first ever terrorist attack had one thing that changed everything, the islamic communities came together and marched, the "not in our name" protest showed that those moderate islamics were opposed to hate, and opposed to violence and it worked, it galvanised a community , I like to hold everyone to that sort of standard.

In other words, someone posted something that personally offended you online, and now you're shoe-horning excuses to justify those who are taking very illegal action against them.

I've got news for you - hacking and thereby distributing someone's private information whatever the excuse you make is a crime. Like, an actual not-pretend crime. As in if you share this information with authorities, authorities are more likely to come after YOU.

Meanwhile, saying something obscene online so long as it is not a direct threat is not a crime. You are free to disagree with people you dislike, but the moment you start engaging in harassment and intimidation that's when you cross the line from hyperbole to criminal action. Threatening to release private information that has been hacked qualifies as that.

You didn't do this obviously, but if you circulate the private information, you're taking part in a crime against people whose only have only done the 'crime' of posting very 'edgy' and offensive things you don't happen to like.

Bottom line is, stop making excuses for the inexcusable.

I am disgusted by this woman. Hadn't read anything like that before but I am not a member of radfem groups, just normal feminist groups. Honestly would have thought you'd made her up. Forced from me? I would be more critical of her than anyone; she's not representative of me but I am aware people can use her to make a connection. But she's not part of any progressive movement, shes part of a hate group which has assumed our name. And yes, I am an egalitarian. All the feminists I would happily call 'sisters' ( if I cared to use such a trite, cod-feministic term) could be described as such. But I won't disassociate myself from the word just because it has been successfully smeared; historically and presently it represents what we have achieved in terms of progress against a very real oppression that continues, albeit in a subtler, more insidious way. (Outside mr groups, that is.). Listen, I'm not happy with the idea of that woman being in contact with children. She's completely mad.
