Question...if she is found guilty of statutory rape...shouldn't she be...I don't...imprisoned? Wouldn't that mean...the child would go to Beiber? Or the woman's parents?

...So how is it that she would receive child support?

Another question...why would a rapist be given child support? How can a court of "law" order someone to pay their rapist?

Here's a good one...how can a court of "law" sanction a rapist being given custody of a child?

Why is it that when an adult male has sex with a minor female he is thrown in prison and condemned as the most evil being on earth but when an adult female has sex with a minor male...she rarely receives jail time, is given sympathy, and in the event of a pregnancy...is given money from the boy she raped.

The best interests of the child "argument" doesn't hold up here. A woman who rapes a boy and is subsequently impregnated by that boy should never be given custody of that child.

Would a man who got a woman pregnant through rape ever be given custody of that child?

The child should be given to the woman's parents or some other family member or put through the adoption system or given to Beiber. If the child is his.

I don't think anyone in this subreddit didn't see this coming. Bieber is on the hook for child support in the millions because it's very likely the child will remain in the custody of the rapist. In a way I'm glad this issue is going to be brought to the forefront of public discussion.

When pregnancy happens it should be regarded as a greater magnitude of rape, not a something totally separate.

If its wrong to get a child to have sex then it is sure as hell wrong to get a child to parent a kid. I can't believe the courts would fault the adult for the sex but fault the the child for the pregnancy... And them force them into the role of parenthood/provider.

This just sounds like double speak from the courts thinking boys aren't trully raped. Are their rulings for statutory raped girls paying cs?

So... $60-120K a year for doing what? Sitting on her ass the next 18 years? All the more reason to reform CS into a NEEDS based fixed dollar amount child support system. And none of which speaks to the fact that if this turns out to be his kid she should be in jail. If genders were reversed that's 100% within the realm of possibility. Granted the celebrity aspect of the case changes that a bit, but still...
