There is evidence of sexual contact between Strauss-Kahn and his accuser, but the prosecution does not feel that the accuser is a strong enough witness to successfully prosecute.

Note that this doesn't mean that a) sexual congress didn't occur and b) that it may or may not have been a rape. Just that the prosecution believes that they wouldn't win a case.

I am, fwiw, appalled at how this mans career was destroyed with the mere accusation. spits

As a MRA myself I'm a little frustrated by this article, if only by the title. It says "One in two rape accusations are false!" as though it's some universal truth everywhere in the world, but that's not the case at all. The "50% rape lie" article is only in regards to Bavaria and should be treated as such. The numbers are differing in other parts of the world.

I just think it makes keeping any sort of Men's Rights Movement credible a hard thing to do when articles like this are deceptively spreading misinformation like that.

I believe it.

Had a girl accuse me of raping her at a party at 18 years old. She was so drunk that she didn't even remember who she slept with that night, or flirting with him, or making out with him all night prior to sleeping with him.

After about 2 hours at the police station I was able to convince the detective that not only didn't I rape this girl, I didn't even sleep with her. And that furthermore, the sex she did have was 100% consensual and that I was willing to take a polygraph test to back that statement up.

Scary stuff though. Really got me thinking. Most rape convictions come with literally no evidence other than the fact that two people had sex. Imagine the power that gives them? If they are mad at a guy, they can just say "He raped me." And as long as the "rape kit" proving that sex happened comes back positive, then you are basically guilty. They don't need any witnesses, video, or anything else. Scary. I learned at 18 years old to stay away from crazy women, not worth it no matter how hot they are.

A non-conviction does not mean a person is not guilty. It means a legal case against them could not produce a verdict and may or may not mean the crime actually occurred. Who could guess a millionaire could not get a guilty verdict against them?

One in two rape accusations are false. Like Strauss-Kahn, thousands of men are presumed guilty, jailed and smeared without due process. They can not afford to spend millions of dollars for bail, a dream team of lawyers, detectives, and their own guards for domestic prison as Dominique Strauss-Kahn did. We only hear of the few lucky ones that escape. The Jörg Kachelmann rape case in Germany similarly ruined a successful public man’s career, had a man spend months in jail, because of unproven uncorroborated accusations by a woman, who also was caught red-handed lying about important facts.

For every acquitted man, there are dozens of unjustly imprisoned victims of false rape accusations.

Now consider this, how many men take video recordings of their sex acts so that they can later prove the consensual nature of their sex acts? Can you imagine: for every man that can prove his innocence, how many men stay in jail and go to prison, upon unproven, wrong allegations of sexual misconduct? Remember: One in two rape accusations are false.

In Scotland in 2009/2010, 821 complaints of rape were made to the police, of those only 83 proceeded to trial, and of them only 25 resulted in a conviction. 25 out of 821. Does that mean 796 out of 821 were liars? I doubt it, but i bet a lot of them were.

DSK runs one of the largest economic hitman organizations on the planet. Even if there isn't enough evidence to convict him of a rape (which is different from "DSK did not rape", because the judicial system only establishes truth to statistical confidences), it's not like he deserves freedom. The IMF is a scumbag organization that is used primarily to ensure that poor countries stay poor countries. They give big loans to US-friendly dictators and call them in whenever the inevitable fledgling democracy tries to fix the resulting property imbalance. DSK is not a friend of MRA nor a martyr for our cause. He's an asshole who got accused by a maid and had powerful enough lawyers to turn the plaintiff's case to shreds. Even if DSK never gets a job again, he probably could retire by now and live off of his savings.
