I see a lot of hate on /mensrights for women who continue on pregnancies and force men to pay child support, when they did not want the child.

I see there as being two truths which come with having sex:

Every girl who has sex, has to know that there is a risk they will end up raising a baby alone. Every guy who has sex, has to know that they may end up fathering a child.

I know that most fathers will step up to the plate for their child, financially and emotionally, whether planned or not. However there are many men, particularly very young and scared men, who will not. They may feel cheated and betrayed, like they do not know the mother well enough, or they may just not care. Even girls who think they would have an abortion, have to understand that circumstances may change, and in choosing to have sex, they undertake the risk of raising a child alone.

Whenever men have sex, particularly with the bulk of birth control being on a woman's side, they have to understand that something might go wrong, and if it does, they may end up a father- whether they would have chosen to continue the pregnancy or not. Because they know that the woman might not choose to have an abortion, and in having sex, they have accepted the consequences for their actions.

Sex may come with unwanted consequences.

Particularly young people seem to forget this. But if they are really forced to stop and think about this, on a regular basis, there will be less playing-russian-roulette-with-the-pill or but-i'll-just-pull-out.

And we need to remember that there are incredibly few- 'I will intentionally entrap him with pregnancy' women. I'm talking about the majority of cases.

I see a lot of hate on mens rights for women who choose to carry on pregnancies when a partner doesn't want to. But that is a risk they knowingly undertook in having sex. And there are probably nearly the same amount of women who thought they had a supportive partner, who falls by the wayside.

Most women do not want unplanned pregnancies to occur. Many women, and men, adjust to this circumstance and end up greatly wanting the child. But this unwanted consequence of pregnancy comes with great trouble to the mother as well. But she has risked this outcome if she chose to have sex.

Women do not always know in advance if they would have an abortion. And when it comes to it, they may not want to. Everyone knows this.

They can both lose out by this. It may feel like one does more than the other, but they both took the risks.

I feel like men are equally responsible for the choices that lead up to an unplanned pregnancy, and therefor equally responsible for the outcomes of that pregnancy.

TLDR: I feel like both men and women know the risks of having a child when they choose to have sex. They both know that the woman may get pregnant, and if she does, may, or may not, have an abortion. Therefore, the hate on mensrights for wanting to get on a 'non parent register' or sign over all rights before birth is unwarranted and unfair.
