Be very careful with marriage. One of my best friends got married a couple of years back. Arranged marriage. Everything was fine until after the marriage. On the first night of marriage my friend got to know that the girl has serious mental issues. Ran out of the house screaming on their first night, all the while shouting expletives. Then the abuse started. That bitch started physically, verbally, and emotionally abusing my friend even in public claiming that he has ruined her life. There is recorded evidence of that. Not a one time thing. All this within the first one month. Couldn't file for divorce until a year has pass and that too had to be a mutual one. This is a very sparse picture of the story. Lots has happened. My friend was also accused with dv and dowry allegations. Luckily him or no one from his family ended in jail. Case is still going but due to pandemic it is being delayed. He is one of the sweetest people i know and I've known him for over 20 years. Grew up together. Watching him being hurt like this makes me very angry.

Don't marry someone from India. Women have the advantage in every way. Say she doesn't like you, she could make up a story that you raped her, not only would you financially compensate her, but you would go to prison/ be killed. Also India is extremely sexist. My cousins were given around 12k USD each for getting their periods... 12,000 for bleeding out of your vagina the first time? Not to mention the dowry, and the general culture thinking of men as pigs. Don't do it. You'll regret it

Once A locally famous actor composed a song that goes "why the fuck are we falling in love" and the whole women society flipped and considered it as an attack on women..

The song was banned and the actor was cancelled..

But the song actually contained lines that praise women a couple of times..

The sad part is all the media and big name actors stood behind the women groups..

Dear Man the 'MeToo' movement was rampant in India too. You can go ahead and believe without a shadow of any doubt that almost every adult woman living in an urban area in India has been touched by this modern radical feminism.

Hypergamy is rampant (that's just about everywhere in the world though). Preference for a 'Government Job' or a solid STEM career is very, very strong. Having your own enterprise or established business is typically highly desirable too.

Legally, a Man cannot be raped in the country and women have had several vague penal codes and sections added to their exclusive advantage in the federal penal code in recent years. A special law titled "THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE

(PREVENTION, PROHIBITION AND REDRESSAL) ACT, 2013" exists exclusively for women too.

Apart from prostitution, the 'price' of sex has been raised so much in the dating and mating market that naturally its prevalence has come down too. The top 10 to 20 % of the heterosexual Men only are getting hot and heavy with the majority of women. The rest have to raise their socioeconomic status to a certain level or secure solid, stable employment to attempt to get married so they can experience a safe environment for physical intimacy and emotional comfort.

With regard to your case, undoubtedly the parents of the prospective women you meet will heavily focus on your job/career, your income/funds and your overall attitude regarding finances and future prospects. Most of them are less concerned about your interests and your major personality traits and more interested in the socioeconomic package you'd bring to the table. Tread very carefully. Ask crucial questions from the women away from families such as questions on feminism, gender roles, 'patriarchy', intimacy, parenting, etc. Do not get smitten by any woman's physical beauty or initial impressions of femininity. I think this is one of those times in life where you'll have to stand for yourself

And let others know that you wouldn't let them control your life

I know it's easier said then done

But you don't want to spend the rest of your life tethered to someone you don't even know

Marriage is about showing the world how special that person is to you

And I don't think it should be looked at as some sort of scheme to get a better social safety net

It's a disaster. Soon, Indian men will be committing suicide at a massive rates. Reasons--- Increased cost of living , Hypergamy, Rampant self objectification of women, Movements(feminism, #Metoo, rape culture) And So on.......

My friend please focus on yourself and upgrade yourself and stay where you are(in abroad), adapt to their culture.

India constitutes 60% of young population. Calculate the odds. I'm not saying women in india are bad, just probabilities of you ducked by marriage is at rate much higher than ever before. Entire men across world are facing similar issues and will be facing upto a decade I think so, we just have to wait for amendment in family laws. Until then, if you're married, you're probably doomed. Or about to marry, you're about to be sucked. Best of luck.

If you do, have proper documents, hire a lawyer ask for prenup, whatever your parents say your life is more important then your parents wishes, if they still insist ask for the guarantee from your parents in written that if something happens after marriage they'll be responsible for everything and will deal all the monetary issues by themselves.

You don't have to get married. Never make your parents force you into getting married. That is your decision and I recommend you do NOT get married. Marriage does not benefit Men at all and remember that 80% of divorces are filed by Women. I don't know how the marriage laws are in India but If I were you, I would do some research on that.

There are good people in every country, don't rush into marriage. Take your time and have high standards for marriage. I know good guys and girls in India who are happily married.
