A great deal of men care about these things, but that is a far cry from being willing to do anything about them.

It's depressing, but based upon my experiences I've come to an observation. There may seem to be a large amount of men aware and upset over men's issues and willing to come together to discuss them, but these are a minority. In real life and even on a lot of the internet, most men just shrug and accept that these are their lot in life. Men have a very passive attitude when it comes to our issues as a gender.

Men are very different from women in the sense that we have very little to outright no unity based upon our gender. Now, you could argue whether this state is nature or it is nurture (I happen to think it is nature that became nurture as the human race grew sapient) but the end-result is the same.

A man may suffer a devastating divorce, become enraged/depressed at the demonization of men in the media, or find that a long-time friend has succumbed to depression and taken his own life. He will be genuinely grieved and upset but it will not occur to him to seek out other men and band together to bring these issues to the "Powers That Be" as a gendered-group.

The reasons given for this are many---again some men don't even consider it, other times they feel embarrassed as if admitting problems and banding together indicates weakness, or they are shamed by being told that other groups have it worse, so it is grotesque to act like victims. Heck, some men actually believe this latter point so deeply that they attack other men who are trying to make a difference. But that is a whole other issue.

I wouldn't quite use the term "crabs in the bucket" to describe how men interact, but one serious issue that relates to my beginning point about a lack of gender-unity, is that men tend to individualize their problems and complaints and not in a good way. If another man is having a problem, then it's his fault that he got screwed over. He wasn't strong enough, he wasn't fast enough, he wasn't smart enough...you get the picture. It inhibits sympathy for other men and again retards the ability to band together as one.

It's a lot more complicated than that, and I feel I sort of bungled this explanation. Each of the reasons I gave are massive discussions in their own right, but I wanted to give some of the outlines behind why this is such a big issue.

They're afraid. I also think the penalty to a man's social status is especially damaging when it comes to dating and sex. When slightly speaking out can get you labeled as a far right MRA incel, it can be incredibly discouraging and damaging to a person's mental health. Hell I catch so much hell just for speaking out against male body shaming.

Another big issue is indoctrination. So many men are unwilling to critically examine gender roles and how the lack of liberation for men has done a tremendous amount of damage.

A combination of indoctrination by society via education and norms that both society and parents impart + IIRC men don't have an in-group bias the same that women have.

You have the sisterhood but no brotherhood to explain it simpler.

Also, anything that could have developed brotherhood is attacked and destroyed by feminists and the left in general cause muh misogyny

I think it's perception. Men have been taught all their lives that women are opressed and they blindly believe it so. And a lot of men are closer to their moms than their dad's so they often believe women are angels and movies also depict women as angels. I actually have convinced lot of girls that men's rights is the need but no luck with boys.
