I studied sociology and even went to grad school. It was a lot of critical theory, marxism, post-structuralism etc. Believe it or not, I had barely any issues there. People would be very sympathetic and compassionate about men's issues, and they thought of it as a problem of gender, not just women. I swear, I'm pretty sure these online 'experts' never finished high school and its just that the biggest extremists always win on the internet

Not really. I gave been banned from subs like r/Anarchism for raising my viewpoints. I don't bother engaging with the majority of leftists. It's a fruitless endeavour

In my experience, anarchists love name calling and such discussions will quickly turn into accusations of inceldom. It’s not much different with marxists. While many of them genuinely dislike identity politics, that doesn’t mean they’re open to acknowledge the existence of male issues beyond what is allowed by feminism. Most marxist people, groups and parties I see these days have a huge focus on female issues. To suggest men have issues because they’re men would be like questioning water is wet. They do believe in things like male privilege, after all. At least the ones I’ve seen.

A true Marxist-Leninist space should make room for discussions of everyone’s experience regardless of their identity. I have found that if people describe themselves by a more specific tendency (I.e. Marxist-Leninist, Maoist) they are less likely to be of the cringey-woke variety you find among spaces vaguely described as “leftist,” “anarchist,” or “socialist.”

You have to be clever. And even then it's hit and miss.

Sometimes I've noticed that adopting their language helps.

It's not hypergamy, it's the male provider gender role.

It's not gynocentricism, it's chivalry.

It's not male disposability, it's the systemic problem of men and men's issues being invisible and deemed less important.

Also I don't know if you've heard of the Socratic method, but there's a modern debate strategy that is similar to that. Look up "How to Have Impossible Conversations".

yes I have! I go to a very left-leaning university, and I'v made plenty of traditionally feminist friends. Something I have learned is that a lot of people who describe themselves as feminist aren't necessarily tied to the "kill all men/men are pigs" sect of feminism, and a few discussions in good faith can lead them to the conclusion that men matter too. That not everything about being a woman is bad etc. I'v won many people over to the view of gender-abolishionism, although I am young so the people I engage with are more likely to be open to changeing their views.

As a small addendum, you might want to look into the distinction between progressive and liberal (especially if you're a poster from the US.)

Does Quora count as a radical feminist space? I've had some lovely discussions with feminists on there about men's rights and gender equality. There are definitely some who I would consider on the more radical side.

I wrote many college essays discussing men's rights as well in classes with very liberal professors. Still got A's.
