No, because I already did this mistake in the past. I rejected a man, he ran after me for months. I thought it was flattering and lowered my guard.

I thought “it feels nice to be chased, he seems really interested in me, maybe I should give him a chance”. As soon as I showed interest, he started negging me, told me he could do even better, and ghosted. He got his revenge.

These men are only interested in the chase. It’s a game to them. If you rejected them at first, don’t change your mind later. They will make you pay for it. Don’t ever think they forgot about it.

This is not an answer to your question at all, but I literally love this movie so much I watched it 3 times in a week LOL. I feel like this movie showcases so many different concepts we talk about here on FDS: rape culture and the myth of the nice guy/how the grand majority of men are complicit (at best) with a culture of sexual violence, how pickmes are flying monkeys for patriarchy, etc. I actually listened to a podcast review where the reviewer said she didn’t like this movie because it makes heterosexuality seem like a scam for women - well girl, maybe because most of the time it kind of is?? This movie is also the reason I found FDS, because I was searching discussion threads about the movie on Reddit and found one on this sub.

Anyway, to actually address your question, this is the kind of behavior I used to think was cutesy, but outside of movies (which tend to be patriarchal propaganda), if a man kept asking you out after you denied him multiple times, it would be intensely creepy and annoying (at best). IMO this is the biggest faux pas in the movie, although I do see what they were trying to do by setting up a typical rom com storyline.

No, he's pushy and she has clearly turned him down twice. HVM have dignity and don't stick around where they're not enthusiastically wanted, just like us.

Don't date, puh lease, until you fully understand all of the red flags in this scene.

It should have ended at the fake number. Seems like he has a bone to pick about that. This is like 40 different attempts at not accepting her "No." It's like how many ways does she have to say it?

She made it clear, so leave her alone.

First red flag was when he walked past his apartment and asked her to come in after the first date. totally planned. and then she contacted him first
