It's so annoying whenever you bring up how men are also victims of crimes (which includes murder, rape, sexual assault/harassment, etc.) and how women also commit such crimes, but yet feminists will still find ways to twist things to make it that women are more affected or even the only affected. If I see the "women are scared to go out at night alone" BS one more time... ugh. Guess what, men are also vulnerable when out alone (day or night, doesn't matter) and men actually make up the majority of murder victims. But also usual, there's the feminist diatribe that makes it how women are the most or only ones affected. Which I find insulting and disrespectful to both male and female victims alike.

Those who demonize straight male sexuality the hardest contort themselves to justify their use of an objectifying term directed towards men.

The reasons given to explain why this term is AcKsHuALLy so wholesome and not problematic at all is that these women want a "simpler" guy who is not intelligent enough to be malicious or abusive.

So not only does this involve the stereotype of straight men being abusive by default, it involves a preference that would be guaranteed to be shamed if the genders were reversed.

Imagine a man saying that he's looking for a woman who is dumber than him. He would straight away be labelled a groomer, abuser, misogynist, pervert etc.

The absolute gall that these people have. The very same sanctimonious wokesters who throw a fit about adult grooming when a man in his 30s dates a woman in her early 20s suddenly finds no problem with a term that eroticizes a man's low intelligence because they want a guy who is dumb enough to just go along with what she wants always.

These people truly disgust me, with their sick ideology and their rhetorical tricks that allow them to maintain double standards. They have the nerve to pretend they don't hate men, that they care about men's wellbeing. All the while painting men as a group as oppressive, perverted, dangerous, toxic, bigoted while bending backwards to excuse any and all bad behavior when it happens to be a woman doing it to a man. Raising a whole generation of boys to feel guilty about who they are, what they want, taking up place in this society. Acting like puritanical nuns when it comes to male sexuality vs. as free spirited libertines when it comes to female sexuality.

They are scum.

On Google right now as I write this, under the search bar they have a link about "see how women around the world are sharing their stories with Google Translate." I don't see why this has to be made into a women-only affair as usual, and why Google is even bothering. Why not just make it how people of all backgrounds and demographics all over the world are sharing their stories? Focusing on just women and leaving men out is ignorant and not equal at all, and I'd feel the same way if it was the other way around.

Just want to share something I stumbled across during my research into history. Again, it's not significant enough for a post, but I'll just put it here.

It's about the worst mining disaster in Tennessee - the Fraterville mine disaster of 1902, triggered by an explosion which killed many men and trapped many more in the mines without sufficient air. Over 200 men and boys were killed there. All but three of the town's men were killed.

Probably the most depressing letter is from Jacob Vowell, which goes:

Ellen I want you to live right and come to heaven. Raise the children the best you can. Oh how I wish to be with you, goodbye. Bury me and Elbert in the same grave by little Eddie. Goodbye Ellen, goodbye Lily, goodbye Jemmie, goodbye Horace. We are together. Is 25 minutes after two. There is a few of us alive yet.

Remember, these are the men that feminists view as awful oppressors of women and who they think reigned like authoritarian tyrants in the household the same way a feudal lord ruled over their fiefdom. And the more I stumble across things like this, the more sickening I realise that view is.

I was reading an online article earlier about a particular subject that didn't even have anything to do with gender, but then it goes onto mention something about a "women-led, women-only" group. I'll never understand how something being women-only is equal or inclusive, isn't that the exact opposite of equality and inclusivity? I can only imagine the uproar there'd be over a male-only group and how it'd be decried as being sexist. Unfortunately it seems these days when you mention equality or inclusivity, it's only applicable to women.

At my bookstore job today in the children's section there's a new picture book called "Like a Girl," and while I don't object to depicting the history of women and presenting it in a way that's empowering and inspirational for girls, I feel there's much too little that's done to also provide empowerment for boys. Would it hurt the author to also do a "Like a Boy" book to illustrate men's accomplishments throughout history? I don't think it's right or equal to ever only focus on one group but not others, and boys also need empowerment and positivity.

This is not detailed enough for a regular post, so I'm just putting it here and seeing what people think. If anyone recalls, I had a discussion with a feminist about the wealth gap recently. They claimed that women own 32 cents on the dollar compared to men and that this was evidence of women's "economic disadvantage". Tracking this number back, it was popularised by a feminist called Mariko Chang, and contrary to how it was presented to me, the number is not comparing the medians of all women and all men but only applies to single women and single men, as she states here.

"Analyses of the newly released 2013 Survey of Consumer Finances data reveal that during their working years, the median wealth for single women is $3,210, whereas single men have a median wealth of $10,150. Single women have only 32 cents for every dollar of wealth owned by single men."

However the citation Chang provides for the data (a report showing numbers from the 2013 Survey of Consumer Finances) does not even talk about gender or break their numbers down by gender. Her sources do not prove her claim, so she's expecting us to assume that she independently got her hands on the data, that information on gender was collected in the Survey of Consumer Finances, and that she isn't bullshitting us with regards to the extent of the gender wealth gap. Either way no one can fact-check her claim and see if she is omitting anything.

She also erroneously claims that women in marriage have less control over wealth despite them making the vast majority of household purchases and essentially controlling expenditure.

Even if it is true, however, that single women own less than single men, I have a hard time believing that this is something that needs to be fixed. Women can seek a partner with greater earning potential, have more discretionary spending in a relationship, and who's apparent wealth doesn't as significantly impact their choice of life partner (and thus, the remainder of their existence). As a result, women are more likely to get underwater basketweaving-type degrees which offer fewer opportunities, are more likely to select jobs they enjoy but that pay less well and offer less benefits compared to men in a given field, are less likely to invest and also are less likely to take on risk for profit when investing, spend more, and are also more likely to take on debts for tuition and other things. This may impact their wealth when single but they likely know they can share their expenses with someone with a greater earning potential once they're married.

Chang herself notes that women at every income level have less wealth than men, and that while "never-married women working full time have almost closed the income gap, they still only have about one-third of the wealth of never-married men. If income were our only lens, we would incorrectly surmise that the financial situation of never-married women was just about equal to never-married men."

Chang thinks a contributory factor to this is that "Women are more likely to work part time and in jobs where they do not have valuable wealth-enhancing fringe benefits such as employer-sponsored retirement plans and health insurance." She, oddly, claims that women have less access to these wealth-enhancing benefits, but provides no such evidence of them being barred. It's dishonest to paint a discrepancy as evidence of a lack of access to these benefits rather than it being the result of a conscious choice to take one option over the other.

She also tries to paint women disproportionately receiving custody of the children as a hindrance to women's accumulation of wealth after divorce. While perhaps true it somewhat makes me raise an eyebrow. It seems odd to claim that women are disadvantaged because of their own choice to fight for custody in court rather than agreeing to share it with their ex-husband.

It could also be that a very large proportion of the wealth gap also relates to what women choose to do with the money that they earn. Perhaps they spend more, take on more debt, are less likely to invest their money, etc.

All of that can result in less wealth, but that's entirely a result of your own choices. Is this oppression, or is it the consequence of women having different priorities than men? And why should that necessarily be fixed by bringing women's choices perfectly in line with men's, or to give women special compensation for the choices they made? Chang consistently fails to provide a substantial and convincing explanation in support of her idea, which she hints at repeatedly throughout her report, that the wealth gap is forced upon women and should thus be fixed.
