I’m asking this because I’m considering dating one, and all I ever hear are reasons why you shouldn’t date them. I want to be serious with her if she feels the same way, and I don’t want to get into detail about her circumstances and situation (there were a lot a bad choices on her part which she admits, but this was due to sexual assault), she had just recently had her baby and I couldn’t be happier for her.

I’m not redpill, and never was but this is something I am having second thoughts on because I really do like her and we’ve already discussed the possibility of starting things, and I’ve already made it clear that I’m not looking to be too involved yet. It feels like I’m being a bit selfish because I understand that her baby comes first, I just don’t want it to be where we go long periods of time without seeing each other or doing anything. That being said I abhor the rhetoric TRP spews about single moms and women in general simply because adds a huge level of anxiety amongst struggling young men and generally views relationships as a zero sum game.

The only positive frame of reference I have is that of my half brother, who dated his wife when she had a 1 year old. They’ve be married for 20+ years now and he has kids with her. Sure, there have been ups and downs, but they’ve stuck it out for that long. I’m asking this because I would like a LTR (of course this has to been up to her as to wether she wants one) but these horror stories just get to me.
