You have to understand, most feminists only have one thing to offer. They have no hobbies, no interests, and no purpose. They just want everybody to be just as miserable as they are. I remember I had a gf that would literally lose her mind when I played video games in my free time, while earning 10 times what she does. Yet, this same woman would spend half the day or more on Instagram and Snapchat. Literally scrolling and liking pics...... When I pointed this out to her she lost her mind. At least with video games I'm improving hand eye coordination, decision making skills, along with a myriad of other pros. The only con would be the time, but again, this was done within MY free time.

Most (all?) women do as well if they want you to have any sort of relationship with them. It's a huge red flag that all men should be aware of...

My limited experience:

Once started a 'relationship'. (40+ years later still trying to figure out why I did) Within two weeks she was complaining and criticising me for spending my money on things that I liked. (specifically buying some books) That 'relationship lasted about 6 weeks, and was the final 'nail in the coffin' that helped me to go MGTOW 40+ years ago...
Had a friendly/semi serious on/off relationship, for several years, Photography is a hobby of mine. (since I was 14) I usually take a camera everywhere when I go out, at the start of the relationship it was fine, but she soon started complaining about me taking my camera everywhere, and only wanted me to take it when she wanted me to. I eventually worked out that it was because I wasn't 'paying enough attention to her' when I had my camera with me...

As a musician I see this all the time and pisses me off so much. Really promising musicians with skill and talent who get into relationships with mediocre dumb boring women who demand all their time because they are too fucking boring to be able to entertain themselves and do everything to sabotage their partners enjoyment that they get out of music. These spineless men always give in to the ridiculous demands of their partners and then lose all their spark and their talents go to waste. It’s because of this that I now 100% refuse to get romantically involved with anyone outside of creative circles because they all just want to ruin your life as a creative person.

My wife has two sisters. Here's the tale of one of them (the other is even worse).

Her husband works a job he hates. He used to ride a motorcycle to work, both because he loves bikes and because it sticks two fingers to the stuffed shirts. When she sprung an unplanned sprog on him, she told him to sell the bike. They couldn't afford it.

Fair enough, you might say. Then, his mother died, left him some money. He used some of it to pay down the mortgage. He wanted to buy another bike. After months of arguments, he found that the new baby was going to have a brother or sister. Argument settled.

With his life now mapped out for him, he became depressed. Then, she had an affair with a guy she goes dog-walking with.... leaving him with the kids. By now, he's a laughing stock at work.

She came back. The world sees a family man, providing for his kids. Does the world care that he's broken..? Or that he never did get another motorcycle, which might have given him something of his own pleasure, as a man, not just generic family man.

I love Legos and Star Wars as well. I also build model kits as well. My hobbies are special to me, they are part of my identity. Any woman who doesn't accept that can literally go fuck herself, she doesn't belong in my life. I spend my money how I want. If she gave me a choice between her or my hobbies, I'd say "have a nice life."

I literally screen for this early on in the dating process. By the second date I will talk more about movies and hobbies and if she makes a face or disrespectful comment I know we're done. I do the same thing with sex. By the second or third date or so when the topic of sex comes up, I drop hints about kink to see how open-minded she is.

Some women are just toxic and like to control how men spend their money and free time, ie they want it spent on THEM. It tends to be a feminist thing but I doesn't have to be relegated to those women. There are immature, spiteful women who are the polar opposite of feminists who just see men as two-dimensional providers. What can you do for ME? Me, me, me. These are needy, dull women.

That would be fine with me. I understand that people are into stuff and that's okay even if it's not one of my interests. Also, I would understand especially about stuff like the Lego sets because that can be limited edition stuff that is collectors items that would be worth money down the road.

Not that you're looking to sell it, I'm just saying people will pay top dollar for stuff like that. Honestly, I think that if a woman thinks that way, she's not mature enough to be in a relationship because she doesn't understand that it's okay for people to have interests different from hers and that people aren't always going to be exactly at the same point in their lives as they are.

Take me for example, I'm goth but I'm also a 38. I've had people say things like aren't you too old for that? ETA: Some people have this very rigid way of thinking. They think that by the time you reach a certain age, you're supposed to have a career, house, car, pay your bills all of that. Of course you should support yourself. These people think that you're not supposed to be into anything that is deemed childish.

IMO, those people are miserable as they go through the motions in their everyday lives and want everyone around them to be as miserable as they are because they've been taught that that is the correct way. Like I said before, ignore her. Ignore people like that in general. Trust me, if someone doesn't get your passions, that's not someone you want to be with anyway. FDS by any chance? Just to let you know, certainly in my own experience *as an Irish person so maybe not applicable to other parts of the world), the vast majority of women find that belief system equal parts repulsive and downright perplexing.

It's particularly ridiculous from a supposedly pro-women point of view seeing as one of feminism's legitimate gripes in the 90s and 00s (hopefully not so much now) has been about women wearing merch from stereotypically male-dominated fandoms (in my circle, musicians and fans who wear band or artist merch talk about this a lot) being accused of not being "real" fans and wearing the clothes for attention!!! So the idiot who posted this comment is not only shitting all over your average man, but also on any woman who has tried to break that "women only pretend to like certain media to impress guys" bullshit.

All around muppetry. Please try not to pay it any mind. People who think like this must lead very boring lives devoid of real passion, and if they're content with it then that's cool but this kind of projection would make me seriously question that.

From an MR perspective though I think comments like this speak to a bigger issue, which is the pervasive atmosphere at the moment that misandry, from generalised criticism and stereotyping all the way up to all-out hate speech, is totally socially acceptable at a time in which misogyny is rightly being socially tabooed. This double standard is a serious, serious problem and is going to cause untold psychological harm to boys and girls growing up in that environment (it already caused untold psychological harm to those unlucky enough to have been born after the mid-2000s in my view) and there needs to be a serious, society wide conversation about it - which right now, we can't have, because anyone who tries to raise it gets roudnly condemned for "whataboutism". They don't want us to have our own spaces to call this shit out, but try to raise it in a feminist space and the answer is always "call for equality, but not like that."

My best friend in the world is a woman (we used to date as well and entirely mutually weren't interested in exclusivity) and she geeks out over more or less the exact same things I do (ironically, one of the few passions we don't share is Marvel which passed me by as a kid and she's spent the last few years trying to convince me to start at the beginning of the MCU rabbit hole which seems like such a huge time commitment with so many movies already out there that I've so far resisted 😂) so please, please, please don't lose hope when reading bullshit like this. Being blocked and deleted by someone like that is a blessing. Anyone that wants you to act like a miserable plank of wood to seem "mature" not only does not understand what "mature" means, they don't have your best interests in mind, and are simply out of touch with reality.

This isn't even an exclusive view to feminists, just an odd trend I see brewing in some older traditionalist(?) people's heads. There was even a guy on YouTube who was Christian that went after an atheist, and made the bizarre argument that "if you don't believe in god, why do you have so many posters of video games and nickelodeon?" (he for some reason thought all cartoons and anime were Nickelodeon the same way some old people think all games are nintendo)

It's like they just can't grasp the concept of fun, they seem to think that part of becoming an adult means throwing away and giving up literally everything you liked as a kid.

Being passionate about your interests is attractive. Some women are more mean girl/plastic types. I would avoid them anyway. They make lousy friends.

Find someone willing to go all in on your interests, it will be more fun and you will get the appreciation you deserve.

It's not just feminists, trad-con women feel the same way about their husbands. The only guys that don't get as much grief are those guys that women actually want to bang.

If you want to have a hobby and friends, don't get a wife or a girlfriend. If you get yourself a girlfriend or a wife, you will ultimately lose your friends and your hobbies.
