So my SBTX just got her citizenship on Saturday and is applying for an expedited passport for herself and my daughter on Tuesday. In order for my D2 to get a passport, I have to be present and sign off on it. My wife does not have any other valid passport, as the one from her home country has since expired. Her stated intention is for her to visit her friend in Europe (who I've met at our wedding and has a family of her own) and for her dad to get a visa and meet up with them there, as he has yet to meet his granddaughter. I have no problem with that and don't seek to prevent them from meeting.

That said, my wife had before threatened to take off with our daughter if she does not get the divorce terms she seeks. Now she is not permitted to live anywhere else, including her home country in the middle east, as she skipped out on an her engaged fiancee and unlawfully fled. She just started her career here and is bent on keeping the matrimonial home, in other words, she would be at the mercy of the authorities and would not be self-sufficient if she ran off with my daughter. I'm conflicted on how to proceed, but I need to make a decision ASAP.

I understand I have some leverage here, but my main concern is getting written/legal assurances with consequences for taking and keeping my daughter overseas should in the unlikely case it happens!

UPDATE: Thank you for the responses. I did not cave and will not be signing for my daughter's passport. Divorce timeline just accelerated from fallout for refusing to do so.
