I turn 23 in a few months and have been dating this girl who is 21. Today was her birthday, but after a really quiet and awkward lunch (because we have nothing in common), I decided I had enough. I had a peaceful ride home with her, went to my room to sleep off whatever I was feeling from the lunch and she comes in to tell me “she’s going home.” I said “cya and while you’re at it, please take your bags home too.” Sex has been a chore for both of us, sometimes I feel like she’s milking me because she knows I have a good job and we clearly wouldn’t last down the line since she is very materialistic.

It hurts because I know this is it but I am tired of us pretending like we are going to be together forever when it’s very clear that she’s only with me for my ambition. Let me explain. You know how some girls are attracted to a guy for the potential or intelligence he has? Like they aren’t really attracted to YOU but they are attracted to the outcome or security that comes with being with you. That is how I felt. Like down the line, she will eventually be the type to say “i’m unhappy then divorce.”

Her parents are shitty people and she pretends to be different but if she had it her way, she would be just like them. Her friends are mostly cheaters, indecisive or girls who live to impress. Every feeling in my gut tells me that I’m not safe with her or she can’t be trusted with legal obligation to half my assets. Oh yea, I’m also tired of having an extra bill to carry around. I hope I made the right decision for my future.

Things just didn’t feel right with her.
