A lot of men are complaining about the dating market, womens standards, hypergamy etc.

They complain that women have too many options

So doesn’t it seem counterintuitive for younger men to be ok with older men going after the same pool of women they’re attracted too?

If the only attractive age for women is 18-30 in mens perspective. And you have men aged from 18-100 going after this very small pool of women, men are making it even harder for themselves. 18-30 year old men are in competition with men way older then them for the women their age.

Imo. Men aged 18-30 should be shunning men who are older trying to get with the women they are in competition for. But instead. It seems like men have the mindset of, when I’m 30+ I’m going to want to go after those 18-30 year old women too. Which makes sense I guess, but then men have got to stop complaining about womens standards and privileges in the dating market, because most of those privileges are created by mens intense desire for a small pool of women
