She told me that she wanted to get a divorce in March and then changed her mind when I started preparing for it and told her that it was all on her and not something I wanted.

Fast forward to 3 months later, multiple therapy sessions where it was all my fault, and she refused to fix anything... She refused to do anything to fix our marriage and I said we were done. We discussed the house, who was staying where, time with the kids, and money. I was staying in the bedroom and she said she'd sleep on our futon in our finished basement. I'd get the kids on weekends after work and we'd give each other space to adjust them to a new routine. We agreed to pay bills then split the rest 50/50.

That was last Wednesday. I was woken up on Friday by her bursting into the bedroom pissed off because she was up all night throwing up and wanted a hoodie. She poisoned the relationship between me and my daughter by lying to her about what happened as well. I came home Friday after work and she had taken the kids to her parents and took all their clothes and bedding. I havent seen my kids in almost 2 weeks now and barely get to speak with them on the phone and when I do, its on speaker with her monitoring.

Worst of all, she filed a Protective Order against me saying I kept her from eating and showering (even though I go into the office to work), said I forced her to sleep in the basement, locked her out of the bedroom, says she fears I'll physically abuse her and the kids, and attacked me saying my PTSD from serving in Iraq is making me volatile and unstable. She says she fears for her life and I've abused my kids. Fortunately the PO was denied because it was so outrageous.

Yeah, I have my issues, but I've gotten help and I'm pretty successful in my career and thought I was a pretty decent dad. I help them with homework, teach them to play sports, play video games with them, support their needs, and teach them to be responsible like a good loving father should. Ive never harmed any of my family or made any threats towards them. Even through our divorce discussions I was calm and reasonable. I recorded our conversations where she volunteered to sleep on the futon in the basement and to split time with the kids.

She's taken the kids from me, moved back into the house and I'm terrified to go back to the house because my cop friends warn me all she has to do is claim that I hit her. At this point I don't know what she's capable of anymore and I wouldn't doubt she would. She tried to keep me out of the house by barricading it and the cops told me to leave.

I havent had a hearing yet, its on the 2nd of June. At this point I feel so damn powerless. I've tried to act in good faith up until now, but she uses our kids as a weapon to get what she wants. My 14 year old daughter called me a "bad person" and a "cowardly bitch". I miss my kids and I just wanted to start getting them used to their new life. I think the fact that she's gone back on her pledge to always do what's for our kids hurts more than anything. I've worked my entire life to build a great life for our family and to always do the right thing. Its heartbreaking that she can do this to our kids and to me with seemingly no repercussions.
