Both say they are right

Mens Rights Advocacy is the noun of the verb (Advocacy -> to advocate). Feminism is an ideology whose central premises (class warfare between men and women with men winning, shorthanded as "Patriarchy") are inherrently anti-male when you examine what needs to be true for it to accurately describe reality.

They are not the same. An appropriate counterpart to mens' rights advocacy would be womens' rights advocacy.

Nope, disagree entirely and here is why:

- One group is more extreme than the other, feminists over generalise men a lot cause they can and get away with it, men are more calm and calculated with what they are saying because they know their words can be used against them

- Yes, but the complainings of feminism are about mythical things like patriarchy, wage gap, male privilige, etc. Feminists still think they are victims and opressed like in the 18th century, when in reality men have it far far worse than them in 2022, but men are not supported nor believed in 2022. Men do complain about feminists, but with a very very good reason.

- Feminists, yes, men's rights, no. Feminists want no opposition at all and want to have all the power for themselves. They do not want real equality, they want superiority. Men on the other hand want equality, same rights as women, same support as women and same treatment from society as women.

These two movements are far far different. Misandry in feminists groups is vastly supported by many many females, I had yet to see one female from feminist groups defending males. On this subreddit however? Misoginy is not tolerated and whenever someone says awful shit about women, they are criticised and ridiculed. Misandry however is vastly supported on feminist groups.

Another example: incel and mgtow subs where there was some misoginy in there got banned. But subs like FDS and twochromosomes still active and still spreading misandry like no one's business.

Totally disagree. They are opposite sides only in the sense one focuses on men and one on women.

The really big and all important way they are not mirror images is that feminists have lobbied for and won practices that advantage women and disadvantage men. The MRM hasn’t sought policies advantaging men. (Similarly there’s a huge propaganda difference).

One movement fights for equality, one for advantages, that’s not opposite sides in my opinion. That’s the U.S. dollar vs. the Zimbabwean dollar.

can someone explain to me what makes Mens Rights so different?

The major talking points and "demands" of Feminists have been debunked by data and studies time and again, yet the "demands" of Mens Rights havent been but get shoved aside, or worse completely ignored.

Feminism Major talking points:

Wage Gap: Debunked time and again.
Violence against Women: Well MEN are more likely to be attacked in the street, so debunked.
Domestic Violence: 70% of non-reciprocal DV is done BY Women, so debunked.

Mens Rights talking points:

Court bias: Proven and spoken about by family coury lawyers, ignored.
Cage Gap: Men get 63% harsher sentences for the same crime, and UK Judges we're ordered not to jail Women who broke the law, ignored.
Education: Boys are falling behind MASSIVELY in education, both as children AND at Uni, ignored.
Circumcision: Still legal, but FGM is illegal.

Understand the difference yet?

Both get frustrated and need a place for some venting to get it off their chest. So yeah you’ll see some of that going on in both and need to not get hung up on it. Some take it far past simple venting though and let it fester into a seething rage. That’s not healthy. I seem to find more of the seething rage variety on feminist subs but it’s possible that’s just my perceptions. It’s also possible that when men indulge in seething rage it gets removed since it’s against Reddit rules to express hatred of women (but not men).

One of the main differences is that the core MR issues (MGM, child support, paternity fraud, biases in family court and criminal court, the draft) are based on solid logic. I challenge you to find any current feminism goals that have a solid basis in a gender disadvantage with an argument based on logic and not emotion. Or some people phrase it, name a right men have that women don’t. I remember one entire thread on that and all they came up with was being able to urinate standing up.

I don't really agree. There is no symmetry, the two sides are not at all the same.

Women's main fears (rape, men's violence towards them) have the full force of society's focus, effort, and resources on solving them. Every day a new initiative is announced. Every election political parties compete with each other to out-spend their rivals on funding these women's issues (rape, violence against women).

Women's main complaint is that these issues still exist despite the immense level of societal resources dedicated to eliminating them. Any rate of incidence above zero is profoundly upsetting to women, regardless of the actual number. As the incidence of rape and domestic violence against women continues its decades-long decline, women only become more & more upset over fewer & fewer incidents of these crimes, and that's going to continue indefinitely. If in the future, there is a year when only 1 woman is raped in the entire country, women's groups will create even more fuss & hysteria over the single rape than they do today.

Men's main fears (divorce rape, paternity fraud, gold diggers, false rape accusations) are all entirely legal and are actively enabled by society and all its institutions.

[False rape accusations are nominally illegal but are very rarely prosecuted in most jurisdictions as a matter of policy, so as to "not discourage real [female] victims from coming forwards". The rare cases that are prosecuted often make news all around the world. What little concern about false accusations that is expressed is almost entirely about how "this will discredit real [female] victims of rape", and almost never about the man who is the victim of the false accusation itself.]

Major political parties campaign by declaring how much they DON'T care about men's issues. Men's issues are relegated to small fringe parties with no political power. Claiming that your political rival cares about men's issues, or even that your rival doesn't dismiss men's groups out of hand, is a very effective smear against them.

Men's main complaint is that society tells them, loudly and clearly, every single day, that it doesn't give a shit about them. Society tells men that all the feminist rhetoric about "equality" is a lie; that they are second-class citizens who should not expect fair treatment because their rights and even their life itself both come a distant second to women's desires and happiness.

Mens rights and womens rights are intrinsically oppositional because they are about advantage for each group: it's in the names.

In my opinion we must abandon gendered rights for fundamental human rights that cover both and replace any gendered rights with common rights such as bodily sovereignty.
