Chip Roy has previously said this:

Roy said there are already thousands of women who volunteer to serve in the armed services and would continue to do so if the U.S. entered another war.

He further pointed to the roughly 17 million men of "draft-registration age," who along with 60 million men ages 18-49 would be able to take up arms if a global campaign broke out.

has falsely claimed that if both men and women are drafted, "fathers and sons stay home",

has not done anything to get rid of military drafting or selective service altogether,

is completely okay with drafting men in any global war he might vote for, and

is completely okay with men facing fines, being imprisoned, being denied access to financial aid, being denied access to employment as a result of failing to register and being prevented from leaving the country in the even that Congress declares war.

Chip Roy is part of what is wrong with politics and a politician that helps push disenfranchisement of men and encourages treating women as above the law.

Everyone that lives in his district (21st congressional district of Texas) that is eligible to vote should vote for the frontrunner running against him (so as to not split the vote) in the November 8, 2022 general election.

Guess what? I don't want my son drafted either. Frankly, most people don't want anyone drafted. In particular, most people in the military favor an all- volunteer force. And every woman I know that are in the military think that women should NOT be exempt from any draft.

I am a libertarian.

I don't like draft

I don't like voting right (though I can't figure out better alternatives).

However, draft in exchange of voting right is about right. If you can be drafted then you are valuable to defend your country. You deserve something in return.

I would say, a better deal would be voting right in exchange of money but that's another issue.
