She waited for 11 hours to call 911, as he bled out - during which time she browsed dating apps.

I haven't read the article yet but if the above is true, how is that verdict even possible? Pretty sure self defense doesn't cover not calling 911 for half a day, waiting for someone to die while you fish for a new hubby. I gotta read this now!

edit: Well, that was a proper mess. Not sure what to make of it, not enough info. Still, the no 911, plus dating app thing is really suss.

My main concern is for those two adolescent sons.

My best guess is that they charged her with something that they could not prove, maybe 1st degree murder, idk. Full disclosure: I have not read the article yet, this is just a guess.

She was acquitted of 2nd degree murder

[–]tenchineuro 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looks like she was pretty good at destroying the evidence. And apparently she's being charged with evidence tampering, but most likely the maximum penalty for that is not much compared to murder.

Wonder if she was looking for him on the dating apps, was he cheating?

[–]Ferbuggity 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He apparently had erectile dysfunction, so likely not.

[–]Curly_Susie_Q 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My ex husband did to but I caught him messing around! I do agree with you though he more than likely wasn’t!

[–]63daddy 122 points123 points124 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Sounds like she’s probably guilty but as one jury member indicated, the state failed to prove her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I think beyond a reasonable doubt is a just standard. If the state couldn’t prove her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, then a jury should rightfully rule not guilty.

The overall problem I see isn’t this. The overall problem I see is we all to often are circumventing such due process when it comes to accused men. Men who lose their jobs due to MeToo, young men kicked out of college by kangaroo courts and even rape shield laws deny many accused men the same legal protections this woman had. That’s the big problem in my opinion.

[–]BeepBeepYeah7789 40 points41 points42 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yep, as MRAs we have to always keep in mind that just because a woman is found "not guilty" of a crime (or crimes) doesn't necessarily mean that a jury believed she was "innocent".

[–]Fearless-File-3625 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Feminists literally use this same argument against men acquitted of rape accusations and to show how there are no false accusations only failed prosecutions.

[–]BeepBeepYeah7789 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

That is a really good point.

My argument though was that just because a woman is found "not guilty" doesn't automatically mean that the PP is at work. Although I know that happens quite a lot.

[–]MaxTheCatigator 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In Germany, of the ~2k cases reported as rape or sexual coercion in the year 2000, some 7% resulted in the accuser getting prosecuted for faking rape or false accusations. This is from a study by the BKA, the federal German authority charged with investigating and prosecuting the 2k cases (roughly comparable to the US FBI).

She was found guilty of evidence tampering after cleaning up the scene of the killing at their Winter Park home, and will be sentenced for that offense in September.

Danielle claimed that Michael stabbed himself on January 11, 2019, after finding flirty text messages from another man on her phone. She later said he had a heart attack.

She then changed her story, to insist it was self defense, admitting she stabbed him in the shoulder but saying he was strangling him at the time.

Images and video from the investigation show the state of the home after Redlick called 911 to report her husband had been stabbed – 11 hours after police say it happened.

They found that she had been on a dating app in the interim.

Prosecutors said there were signs Redlick tried to clean the scene after officials found bloody towels, a mop and a bucket.

In an interview with detectives at an Orlando hospital, Danielle Redlick refused to go into detail about the night her husband died.

She got away with murder. Reminds me of that woman in UK that was spared jail time after stabbing her boyfriend because it would have hurt her future as a doctor. Attacking, injuring and even killing a guy bears no legal consequences if you’re a woman. The justice systems in western countries are a joke.

[–]63daddy 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She probably did. That can happen if the prosecution can’t prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

[–]eldred2 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The question I have is what amount of the "reasonable doubt" applied in these kinds of cases can be attributed to the women-are-wonderful affect?

[–]CLxJames 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Dunkolunko 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How is this not beyond reasonable doubt? Negligent homicide.

[–]matrixislife 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She was charged with 2nd degree murder though.

[–]A9SteakSauce 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's no question a man would have been convicted if the genders were reversed.I doubt there's ever been a case where a man killed his wife, claimed self-defense,and was then acquitted.

How is waiting 11 hours to call for help not negligent homicide?

[–]imextremelymoderate[S] 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She needed time to clean up the crime scene. It's rude to invite guests over without cleaning up first

[–]Diesel-66 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's not what the law means.
Negligent homicide is More a car accident, locking your kid in a hot car, shooting a gun in the air,

She then changed her story, to insist it was self defense, admitting she stabbed him in the shoulder but saying he was strangling him at the time.

So, she lied first, twice, which is not something you do if you were about to die thus killed your attacker. Also, if you were strangled, even by a 65-year-old, that's pretty easy to prove. You could claim shock for the 11-hour but changing stories, trying to get rid of evidence and apparently no signs of actually being strangled--the article doesn't say anything about a medical examination which is telling on its own, if she had the signs of strangulation, any article would proudly point them out and even show pictures--make this not add up.

[–]pappo4ever 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

she explained they had got into an argument over a text send to her by another man.

It's always another man via text. It's always a dating app. Always. Cellphones and social media has made basically impossible to have a monogamous relationship. The only way to not get cheated on, is to not look.

No.

[–]i_phped_in_the_pool 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They had teenage kids, I can't imagine any DA could be hidden from a household with kids. They should be able to collaborate a lot of stories to provide history of abuse, wouldn't they?

[–]kenek60 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just another case supporting the safety of a MGTOW life style. Women always get shorter sentences than men for the same crime and are often forgiven for murdering their man.

Hmm, I read the story. I butt out. The man bunnied the mother till she died of cancer. The daughter was subsequently bunnied and made into a wife with kittens. At some time a power struggle came into the marriage after she found out he was bucking other bunnies. She tried to take revenge with a bunny act of herself. A fight was used to to determine the strongest of the two and she won. Not my problem.

The part that really bothered me is that the victim called 911 before he died and told the operator, "There is a woman here that is a danger to herself and others."

They never sent help. He was dead a few hours later.
