I ranted about this a while back on here and also just recently on the Everyday Misandry sub, and feel like doing so again after I saw it the other day on social media and reminded of how much it pisses me off. I remember it trended on social media after Sarah Everard's murder, a graphic that had the words "Protect your daughter" crossed out and beneath it "Educate your son." This is such a blatantly sexist and misandrist slogan and it shouldn't be allowed to be in use. Nothing but male-bashing and only enforcing harmful stereotypes of men being predators and deviants out to harm women. Not only that but also completely ignoring the fact that many women also engage in toxic and harmful behavior against men and also children, animals and even other women. Yet as usual, it's only the men who are told be held accountable. Bad behavior has nothing to do with a person's gender and everything to do with them choosing to do something wrong, and this stupid slogan makes it as if bad behavior does indeed have something to do with gender. Not only that but as usual, completely absolving women who do wrong of any sort of accountability or repercussions, when in my book both bad men and women who do wrong need to be equally punished.

Both sons and daughters should be equally educated and protected, not one or the other. This campaign is no different from the stupid Gillette ad, completely ignoring the fact that toxic and harmful behavior is something both men and women do. It completely overlooks the bigger issue at hand and makes it into another gender war to try to let bad women off the hook and demonize men as being inherently bad just for being male. This campaign isn't only sexist but arguably fear-mongering in a way too, since it again re-enforces harmful stereotypes peddled by feminists that men are inherently out to harm women and that women by default are incapable of wrongdoing. Which is extremely sexist and ignorant.

I've seen some feminists use the tired old "it's like saying all lives matter" when you bring up that both sons and daughters should be educated. So it's "all lives matter" to suggest sons and daughters should both be educated and protected? I wonder what they have to say whenever women commit terrible acts against men and even fellow women, as many innocent women have also been harmed by bad women. One such horrendous incident of female on female violence was the Shanda Sharer murder (read up on it if you can stomach the grisly details). You telling me Shanda's four killers (all of whom are walking free as we speak, which is nothing short of disgusting and disgraceful) shouldn't be educated over their actions? I guess Amber Heard also shouldn't be educated with how horribly abusive and manipulative she is, with how horribly she's treated people.

I hate it. Slogans like this are stupid, ignorant and counterproductive, and fuel the gender wars. It's just as dumb and ignorant as the Gillette ad, making it seem that being one gender or the other determines you being good or bad. Things like gender never determine that. Good and bad men exist, good and bad women exist, and both men and women who fall into the bad category deserve equal punishment and repercussions.
