Yeah, but in most of those cases, the poor guy was already taking on a parental role for some years before learning otherwise, which is what the courts base that decision off of. There are provisions for getting the actual father to pay, but naturally enough very few of those pump-and-dump losers are willing to let some sucker off the hook for their actions.

That usually happens when someone consents to be listed as the father on the birth certificate or make an admission in open court that he is the father.
There is a procedure to be relieved of a child support obligation if a DNA test later shows that you are NOT the father. But that relief is only prospective - it does not relieve you of the support obligations that have already accrued. That usually where I have seen the horror stories. The "father," under a child support order, falls thousands of dollars in arrears in child support. He petitions for a paternity test, that takes months and months to come back. The test shows he is not the father, so the court terminates his future child support obligations. But he is still obligated for the PAST arrearages, to the point of being jailed if he doesn't pay them.

I read recently about a father that took one of those home DNA tests and his child (if i recall around 4yrs old) ended up not being his according to the result of the test and his attitude towards the wife changed and she was beside herself because she swore up and down she had never cheated. After a few days they all decided to do further testing and she turned out to not be the mother. They were sent home with the wrong baby.

I'm going to take a karma hit here. Be assured that I call them like I see them.
While I would be furious to see a white or 'culturally white' woman espouse a sentiment like this, I'd more "give a pass" to African American women.
I say this because they are "playing a different game".
Culturally white women who "do dirt" are mostly engaging in hypergamy....trying to breed or pair with the most desirable men, while "exploiting" often less desirable men to support them and the child. This is despicable.
HOWEVER due to high mortality and incarceration rates (I believe around 5%), as well as competition from mostly fugly white girls, African American women tend to be more in intense competition to have A MAN, not necessarily a desirable one. Any "dirt" that they do is in service to that much more modest aspiration. Also they didn't CHOOSE the hyper-competitive market the way that culturally white girls do chasing "sexy badboys".
That said, if I were an African American gentleman I would be furious to discover that I was raising another man's child...but it might be prudent to give a little perspective to the bigger picture.

It isn't perfect, but captures the nuance that the motivation is LESS (not perfectly) motivated by perhaps 'greed', and MORE motivated by 'need'.

They are FORCED to competition (including sometimes "doing dirt") , just as a mother is somewhat FORCED to steal food to feed her hungry children.
I acknowledged in the first post that I would, if an African American man be furious to find that I was supporting another man's child. It IS injustice. I'm just asserting however that it is prudent to consider differently than for example, something outrageous like:

Thank you for sounding out your reasoning (I read both comments), I enjoyed the added humour! I think I see where you are coming from when you speak about availability of partners but still find myself disagreeing that circumstances in...matters of love?...not sure how to call it...would lessen the weight of deception and betrayal.
I suppose my main issue with your earlier analogy would be that you compared stealing diamonds to stealing food, seemingly implying that the same morality in life or death situations also apply to matters of love.
I wouldn't place having a partner on the same level as basic life needs, it may be a wonderful thing to have but it remains a want, not a necessity.
That said though, your words have me feeling sorry for people in a situation which could add to their decision to act with deception, potentially betraying another. It's certainly a problem that could do with a solution, one from top of my head would be these people widening their dating circle to more than just people who look like them. It won't be that simple I know that, but this is the direction my mind goes, the problems we're talking about generally stem from people being lonely, so there has to be something which will bring more people together.

Reproduction may not be a physical need, but it is a very strong psychological one. The biggest way (I'm quoting existential psychology) that we as humans cope with the impending fear of death is to become "immortal" by passing (genetically) a part of ourselves into the future in a child. Existential psychologists believe that the impending fear of death is at the basis of all psychological distress....in a certain sense you actually CAN die of psychological distress through for example overdosing as you use heroin to cope with the psychological pain you are experiencing.
And it's interesting that you bring up "expanding"......it actually DOES appear (from my limited perspective at least ) that the "market is slowly correcting" in terms of the "demand for African American women".
Whereas in the past fewer men of other races were willing to marry an African American women (I don't think this is a controversial statement) , I see more and more at least white men with them, including in my own family.
This is normal and natural...due to the distorted market with excessive supply, African American women are relatively "inexpensive" and over time increasing demand will "normalize" their "price"
You might (I know the "value" assessments are depersonalizing and only partially valid) for example see perhaps a less attractive and perhaps "inconsistent" provider male, pairing with a more attractive, highly accomplished and successful African American woman. He is happy because he got "more woman than he should be able to 'afford'" and she is happy to exit a hyper competitive market for African American men with a relatively good outcome.
