This is actually what her legal team wanted as the outcome. Her not being sentenced had her in a weird legal limbo position where nothing could be done to get her out of Russia.

Now that she is sentenced, the prisoner swap deal can move forwards.

This has always been the outcome Russia has been politically angling for, they want their Russian state sanctioned arms dealer back and this arrest gave them the US political leverage to see that deal put seriously on the table.

Expect her to be back in the US within 6 to 12 mths walking around free and clear.

Hardly PPD material, this is just the political chess match that is played at a nation level.
