Articles like this appear each week, and provide us with still further incentive to think more largely than "men's rights" and screeching about how much feminism sucks, if we're serious about selling the public* on our goals. Start connecting our mission to the worries that trouble Americans the most, such as fewer of their/our tax dollars going to the government at the end of year, on account of too many people being in prison and being kept in poverty, which itself leads to disastrous events that also jack up the cost of living for everyone. The majority of my life has been spent paying child support (1 child), restitution to the state for the benefits her mother received before she let me know I had a child because we were just a casual hookup and went our separate ways. Cobra insurance because my employer at the time didn’t offer it and I was court ordered to provide it. Hospital and doctor copays because I was responsible for the entire bill. “Standard practice.” And then the thousands and thousands spent fighting her in court to actually be able to see my daughter because “child support and visitation don’t go hand in hand.”

I’m in my late 40s and financially I’m where I should have been in my 20s.

This is why a vasectomy and no marriage is the solution. I know many say abstain from sex until marriage but honestly marriage is the issue It won’t change so the best thing to do is not play the game. Don’t participate. If you’re an older guy and kin your mid-30s and up just get it done. If you’re young and holding out hope realize you have a 50% shot of being like me and millions upon millions of other men in the US and Europe being a wage slave because the woman you were with decided she wants to ride the dick train and leave you. Then you’re stuck. It seeing your kids and paying 60%of your income to the state.

Child support isn’t the issue. If you father a kid, they are your responsibility.

The only battle going on is the degree of custody. Shared custody should be mandatory unless a parent is shown to be unfit

I don’t understand why anyone would want the state so involved in their lives. I’m a male. I’ve had full custody of my son since he was 3 (he’s 18 now). I didn’t seek child support because I didn’t want the state involved in my life. God knows I coulda used the money at times and god knows his mother deserved to pay!

I don’t know what solution is- but we ALL need to be better and stop leaning on the state in these situations because the state will be happy to get their cut.

The way I see it- woman are vindictive and collect child support more for revenge than support for the child. The state is all too willing to oblige because they get a cut and if they get enough cuts- well that’s a pretty penny.

Beyond that- child support is an antiquated ’solution’ to problem that no longer exists.

Govt never has and certainly still doesn’t- understand the sexes. That is self evident.

I’m poor- I’m from a poor background and have poor friends. Every single male I know wants to be involved in their kids lives and are willing to pay for their needs. Idk I’m just ranting. Just be better- people!

Feels like a never ending list of penalties solely for having reproductive organs. Whether or not they work. Forced birth, artificial supply issues on formula and diapers, your job can straight up penalize you for having kids, periods cost monthly, actual rape & false accusations, malicious paternity cases, it just goes on
