Spain making UK look sane.

The UK has something upcoming called the Online Harms/Safety Bill. If it passes, things will get a lot worse here.

He wanted to double the number of women being killed that is threat. I guess wanting women to be murdered and threading to increase that number is legal

[–]WeEatBabies 59 points60 points61 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is now punishing thought crimes, called it!

To be fair what he said was in very poor taste, but prison, it's way too much!

Conclusion : no more wrong think gents, or off to prison you go!

And just for fun, coming to a Spain near you in the future : "Why should I pay child support for a child that isn't even mine?"

And off to jail you go!

"How am I support pay child support from jail?

Misogynistic contempt of court, more jail time and to answer your question, child support debt piles up while you in jail, pig!

[–]Rich_criticism069 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

if you read the article he said for example in one. "Let's see if we double that figure in 2016, thank you,"

i think that's threatening violence

[–]KitsuneCreativ 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'd say still in poor taste, but two things. One: the whole "KAM" movement is much worse, and two: I know it might be a little overused, but I'm gonna use the old reverse the roles trick cause it works every time.

[–]Rich_criticism069 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Anyone who says KAM or anything similar should be sent to jail.

I'm from India and men's rights here are legally non existent . Men cannot be raped or be a victim of Domestic violence (Unless and until the wife attacks the man with sharp objects resulting in huge blood loss.)Moreover if the marriage doen't work out the wife usually files dowry complaint against the man and his parents and siblings even though the wife has never met them(Yes it sounds crazy but that happens in India). Women helplines are flooded with men telling their wives are abusing them and attacking them but the police isn't doing shit.

https://twitter.com/voiceformenind

Just look at this profiles documenting abuses against men in India.

That said I still think the dude said things that were directly threatening violence and hence sent to jail.

He didn’t make jokes, he threatened to double the number of women being killed. That is threat

[–]TemporaryCockroach78 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like how you dismiss what he said as just in poor taste as if he didn’t want more women to be brutally killed. People like him are tricking bomb. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had already killed

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points26 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

A couple of notes. Regarding the numbers of victims, in spain all violence by a man against a woman in certain contexts (such as partner or former partner) is always considered misogynist/gender violence. Even in cases of minor offenses, judges must always consider that the man aggressor is a misogynist and that his aggression has misogynist motivations.

I guess it is not necessary to clarify it here, but it is no crime or social problem to say the same rubbish against men. In fact the media that publishes this news has a radio program with a section dedicated to praising women murderers called "women who have lost their manners but not their reason".

Full article translated by deepl:

The Supreme Court has raised to two and a half years in prison the sentence imposed on a Twitter user who said, for example, that "few seem to me with the number of whores that are loose" in relation to the number of women killed in 2015.

A Twitter user will go to prison for laughing at the fatal victims of gender violence . The Supreme Court has decided to increase his sentence for a hate crime to two and a half years in prison, which implies his mandatory entry into prison even if he lacks a criminal record.

According to the sentence explains, the defendant Berenguer Jordi Moya wrote these messages on his Twitter account, under the nickname "Beren", between 2015 and 2016: "53 killed by gender violence macho so far this year, few seem to me with the whores that are loose," he said for example in one. "Let's see if in 2016 we double that number, thank you," he said in another, commenting on the number of women killed in crimes of gender violence.

For these messages, and others for example laughing at the young Seville girl murdered Marta del Castillo in 2009 and also talking about terrorism, the Prosecutor's Office asked for four years in prison and the Audiencia Nacional imposed a total of two, which did not imply his mandatory entry into a penitentiary center: now it has been the Supreme Court that has decided to uphold an appeal by the Public Ministry and increase his sentence to two and a half years, which will lead him to prison.

In its sentence, the high court explains that the content of the phrases written on his Twitter account "reveals the aggressive nature of the expressions and the finding of hatred as they refer to situations in which you want to find women referred to in aggressive terms in a gender context". The sentence also includes a fine of 10,800 euros.

ACQUITTED OF TERRORISM

The judges have also decided to uphold part of the appeal filed by the convicted person himself, absolving him of the crime of glorification of terrorism for which he had been convicted: messages such as "we no longer see attacks like those of 9/11" or "now all that is missing is an attack in Madrid" are considered by the Supreme Court as "generic statements or an expression of desire, otherwise inappropriate, which do not imply the characterization of the crime of endangerment".

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This issue goes far beyond mens rights, even if women arent held to the same standard.

While we should all work to remove hatred from our lives as a matter of personal self improvement and well-being, the freedom to hate and the freedom to express hatred vocally is paramount to a free society. How can you expect people to eradicate hate from themselves if they're forced to suppress it, internalize it, and never have it challenged in debate and discussion?

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really have a rather dubious stance on this, but I have noticed that censorship in no case seems to make those thoughts disappear, even across generations. In fact they seem to become more extreme and, rather than being contained, I wonder if they are a pressure cooker waiting to explode.

[–]NewDemonStrike 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I really hate my own country thanks to this. Change to conservative government, please!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

If you are thinking of PP (probably the next winner), they have a long history of voting in favor of feminist laws. They also had an absolute majority and did not overturn even those laws contrary to human rights or for "chiringuitos".

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Conservatives tend to vote and agree with more feminist politics and laws.

Conservatives are some of the biggest supporters of child support/alimony/marriage.

[–]Fearless-File-3625 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Conservatives definitely don't agree more with feminists than lefties.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When it comes to men being traditional sure they do. When it comes to sentencing disparities conservatives are the worst.

But to be fair our whole lives have been programmed by feminist rhetoric through social media/movies/media/and TV. I don't blame anyone for hoe they think.

[–]Fearless-File-3625 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Conservatives at worst eat up 50% of feminist bullshit, lefties eat up everything.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tradcons man lol

[–]NewDemonStrike 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean more conservative than that. We really need to go back to 2000.

Imagine going to prision because you’re a troll on the internet

[–]MGTOW_Theory 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Feminists moving in to internet and that's what they are about.

[–]TemporaryCockroach78 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Feminist have always been online. Now men can not openly threat to murder women. The oppression

[–]MGTOW_Theory 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's called free speech. And women still openly threatening men.

[–]TemporaryCockroach78 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is not free speech anymore when you make it threat. Why don’t you go around saying you will kill people and see if it’s just free speech. You will be arrested for threatening to kill. I don’t feel sorry for guy that gets off seeing others brutally murdered. He should be on watch list for life

[–]MGTOW_Theory 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You support totalitarian state and ready to exchange your freedom and privacy for protection of the state.

People like you reason for genocide. He did not commit any crime. Tell me when you are going to give life sentences to males for words. Imagine what i could do to you for words that you sad in your childhood.

You are opponent of freedom, fairness and democracy.

[–]TemporaryCockroach78 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What makes you think he is trolling ? What makes you think he is not being serious and wants to double the number of women killed ?

[–]Somewhereovertherai 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He sounds like an obvious troll, like a karma farmer.

[–]equalRights111 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

Second Comment:

It would be fun to do an experiment writing similar tweets about men. You know, write something like ‘50 men are homeless in my town, let’s see if we can double that’ etc etc. Would I be carted off to prison for that?

[–]valintin 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It wouldn't be just posting about making people/men homeless, if you were also posting about harming them, then one could imagine being carted off to prison.

[–]equalRights111 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes I see what you mean. I suppose one could say ‘50 men were violently assaulted, let’s see if we double that next year’, would be interesting to see if the same/similar law applies then.

[–]valintin 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't know if it would be applied, but I think it should be applied. Someone congratulating and encouraging violence against others be it women, men or any other group can cause real harm to people.

[+]ebony-mori -22 points-21 points-20 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Homelessness… Murder. Yeah, they’re the same.

[–]Icy-Start5536 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

The problem with you fucking subintelligent people is that you don't understand hyperboles. The hyperbole is meant to compare the LOGIC behind an argument by exaggerating it ad absurdum. Your strawman is to compare the OBJECT, when it is clear to people of average intelligence that that's inaccurate.

Now learn, internalise the concept and stop misreasoning so that next time you'll look like a decent human being.

[+]ebony-mori -6 points-5 points-4 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

If this conversation is too emotional for you, then I’d recommend not partaking in it.

The attempt at a comparison is nonsensical. It completely fails as a comparison. Both issues are very widely in weight, which of course, would grant different repercussions.

Homelessness and murder is not a good comparisons to make. Saying that does not make me a bad person.

Like I said, if you’re too emotionally invested in this, you may want to take a step back.

[–]Icy-Start5536 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Oh yes, the "who hurt you" fallacy 🥱

Again, if you're below average in intelligence let me repeat myself. This is NOT a comparison, it's a hyperbole. Learn the difference. But I understand that's your game to strawman because you don't have a valid point.

Now please go educate yourself and then you can resume talking with me 👉🏻

[+]ebony-mori -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

The comment I responded to, discussed a potential experiment. That is not hyperbole, but deliberately attempting to compare the two issues, to claim double standards against men.

Actually go back, read the comment and actually think about whether you’re speaking from an emotional or objective place, then you may resume talking to me.

[–]Icy-Start5536 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Butthurt that you resort to copying my lines?

[–]ebony-mori 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Is that all you have left to debate on this?

[–]Icy-Start5536 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No but I'm not gonna feed you, troll.

I came up with a lot of rationale and solid points. You contributed nothing. Those appeals to emotion and overall sophistry might help you win some debate with lesser men - the only ones you can attract with your character - but in here it's not gonna get you very far.

[–]ebony-mori 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not everyone that disagrees with you is a troll.

You haven’t come up with a lot of rationale. You delved straight in with attempting to insult my intelligence, then claimed the comment I responded to was a hyperbole, which it was not.

You had a vast overreaction to my comment, which I called out. Now you’re attempting to spin a very short interaction around, to me being the emotional one here.

Nice try. You don’t have anything to argue, as you were just wrong in regards to the original comment being hyperbolic.

If your argument cannot stand up to criticism, that’s not the criticisers fault.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Coming from you is rich. You're always commenting with an emotional response instead of logical.

[–]ebony-mori 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t, unless the conversation calls for emotion.

I was not the one here that started throwing around insults and accusations because someone pointed out murder and homelessness are incomparable.

Verbally bullying adversarial ideas is the way of feminism. If you don't reciprocate you'll never win. They didn't win by being "good people", they just use mob justice and brigading and silencing and all these methods. I'm not asking you to like it or to become despicable, but if you fight with confetti and your enemy has nukes, you simply lose. That's it.

[–]Icy-Start5536 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's really the Nash equilibrium. I advise you read that in the 'theory of games' it's spot on. It's like during cold war, in the absence of collusion both powers tend to escalate until the mutual destruction is an option. But as long as women use no logic but simply outcry men and win, there will be no real consequences for them, and they will continue. It's not about 'stooping' so low, it's about winning. Every man should prioritise winning over wearing a paper badge of honour. It's way better to win and change the status quo. It's their game to confuse and bamboozle us, don't let them, and sometimes being arrogant is needed.

Wanting to see more homeless men versus wanting to double the number of women being murdered is not the same. You are not saying you will cause more homeless men

[–]equalRights111 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

2.5 years in prison, career ruined, life destroyed, reputation tarnished, all over two twitter messages.

You’d get less for actually doing a physical crime like stealing or such.

[+]TRexDale08 -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

I think when people say they think women should be killed, a lot of people think that person is dangerous and should be separated from society.

[–]GutterMouthInc 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Remember #killallmen? Anyone propagating that hashtag should be removed from society?

[–]gratis_eekhoorn 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

about the fucking time someone said it, there are thousands of women using that hashtag

[–]equalRights111 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago* (18 children) | Copy Link

I kind of agree with you in a sense. If he actually believed that women should be killed, then that would very alarming and I would certainly hope he gets some therapy.

Unfortunately, we don’t know if he actually means that. He could well be posting these tweets as jokes, or to make a point, or something. I find it very improbable that he truly believes that we should ‘double the number of women killed’ or whatever, that’s just your emotional reaction to these words. He certainly shouldn’t be thrown in prison because of words and opinions.

[–]Icy-Start5536 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Besides that, that's what happens when women take social decisions and enact laws. That's real harm, not potential, not imaginary, REAL.

[–]equalRights111 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I’m not sure about women in general, I don’t agree with that.

[–]Icy-Start5536 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Because you have to say this disclaimer but by and large this is true.

Not all cobras are dangerous but you'd better treat them as if they are when you're next to one.

[–]equalRights111 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I see what you are saying. I just think it’s dangerous to put people in prison for words.

[+]valintin -9 points-8 points-7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If it was only just "words" it wouldn't be a problem but it's never just words. People act on them, follow them and use them to incite violence.

[–]equalRights111 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True, there is a danger, but I fully defend people’s right to say things. You cannot draw the line anywhere with free speech.

stealing vs threatening to murder women to the point the stats double. He wants women to be killed more often yet I am suppose to have sympathy his reputation is Tarnished ? His current reputation matches his true self. Why should person that gets off seeing others being brutally killed have career ? Threatening to kill others is crime, it being online doesn’t make it okay

Isn’t threatening to murder others to the point, the country’s stats would double bigger issue then stealing cookie ? Do you think man that stole is less moral then a guy that laughs and gets off others being killed ? Your moral compass is …

If that is the case, should men be jailed for rape day rhetoric ? Should men be jailed for every rape threat they post online ? What about the men that responded with kill all women ? The reason why this man is jailed is he actively threaten to kill women and create terrorism attack just like 9/11 in Spain.

So here’s a mind bender of a thought exercise:

If he were to transition to a woman would she be free to go with her record expunged?

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

With the new spanish trans law, as long as the judicial process is started after legal gender reassignment (which only requires a bureaucratic process), the perpetrator will be treated with the desired gender even in legal asymmetries.

Some cases have already occurred and, of course, have raised the wrath of TERFs.

It's surprising there is any space left in prison with all those people who tweeted "killallmen" safely locked away.

How many are in prison for doing this to incels? If none then this guy is a political prisoner.

No-one expects the Spanish inquisition.

THIS is what "equity" looks like when carried out to its inevitable end.

Article is in Spanish.

Yup, I thought it wouldn't be a big problem since almost everyone uses chromium based browsers with a built-in translator. If you use firefox I guess it's a good time to recommend this extension.

Anyway, I translated it with deepl in this comment.

"Let's see if we can double that number!"

That incitement to commit crime. No problem sending that to prison.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps, I find it a bit difficult to argue that these terrible comments are serious or that they can really incite anyone. The judges could have repeated the same argument they used to justify the non-conviction for apology of terrorism.

Anyway my intention in posting this is about legal asymmetry. As you can see from this sub and many others like r/everydaymisandry, these kinds of statements against men, even if they are clearly said in earnest and by notable organizations, have no consequences. Often they don't even go against the rules of social media, contrast sharply with a case where the prosecution acted.

The big argument extreme feminists use against us is, incels who promote violence against women.

Let's distance ourselves as rapidly as possible from people who fit that description.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess it would have been better to emphasize the point and editorialize the title, but I suspect the more extreme ones would have misinterpreted it anyway.

Found the misandrist.

[–]Waratah888 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Found the actual incel who promotes violence against women. Thereby weakening MRA .

If you are against are incels you are against men's rights.

[–]Waratah888 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

If you are infavour of violence you are against human rights ( including men's).

[–]g1455ofwater 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Violence can happen from any group, you are the one posting the hateful misandrist trope of "violent incels". What about violence towards incels? You never showed any concern for that. Then you used incel as a derogatory term to attack me. Like I said found the misandrist.

[–]Waratah888 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If the initial article was about violence against incels my coment would have been critical of that. It wasn't. You sound as irrational as extreme feminists. Stop tilting at windmills.

[–]g1455ofwater 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The article wasn't about incels but you brought up an anti-male hateful trope to attack incels but now you're telling stories to pretend that you aren't promoting misandry. So spare me the fantasy stories about what you would have done when you posted twice attacking incels and have yet to apologize for or take it back or anything like that. You are the one being irrational you are playing both sides trying to pretend to be for men's rights while dehumanizing a vulnerable male group.
