Today on "You can't make this shit up":

[–]destructoMagiko1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

Women are discussing how societal pressures on men hurt them too. How is this even legal?!?!?

[–]ramao__ 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And by the way, what you vomited in your blatant gas-lighting comment is not all what's happening in the article. She is clearly saying that societal pressures on men take more of a toll on women, than the men themselves. Which is part of the whole problem. It reinforces the message that everything is about women and that men are second class citizens of secondary importance.

[–]ramao__ 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Just took a tour trough your profile, you're really investing a LOT of time in trying to make men feel invalidated in their complaints huh? What is it, daddy issues or something?

[–]destructoMagiko1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

I’m a man and I’m very close with my father. Perhaps I’m just a realist and don’t have a victimhood complex.

[–]Chome_gnompy 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I’m a man

Then where are your balls and why are they in your feminist daddy's purse?

[–]destructoMagiko1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah. A real man would be sobbing and playing victim. Me who thinks I’m not a victim is a pansy. That makes sense.

[–]Chome_gnompy 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Real men don't bend their knees to feminists.

[–]Balages 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be honest a 1 day old account with this much posts here makes it hard to believe. You could say anything we can't check it

[–]_BlueShark87 172 points173 points174 points 3 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

Hmm I wonder why we don’t have male friendships after we have girlfriends or wives? Maybe it’s because you refuse to let us? Nah, just kidding, it’s all our fault.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 71 points72 points73 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

I don’t have many friends, at least those that I see very often. My fiancé absolutely wants me to have friends and to spend time with them. The problem I do see, is that many of these friends seem to disappear once they get a significant other. And making new friends at 40 is very difficult.

[–]_BlueShark87 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Probably they go and spend more time with them than you.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Obviously. But it’s annoying. We’re all adults and I get people are busy, but if you value friendships then make an effort. I’m tired of always being the one to have to initiate making any sort of plans.

[–]_BlueShark87 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yea but this happened with a buddy of mine and when he got a girlfriend she got mad when he spent time with his friends instead of her. She said she should come first and he needs to stop hanging out with his friends.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That’s hella selfish on her part then. We try to make plans with other couples even and it’s still difficult. None of my friends have any kids and they’re all between 30-40 years old.

[–]_BlueShark87 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yea they broke up and he avoids women now.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That’s understandable. I got divorced at 30 and swore I’d never get married again. But here I am turning 41 next year and taking the plunge again.

[–]_BlueShark87 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Best of luck to you.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My question is why is someone telling their significant other that they can’t have friends accepted when it’s a woman telling a man that? It’s certainly abusive and controlling. If a man did that to a woman, everyone would be telling her to leave him, etc.

[–]ohisama 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Did she stop hanging out with her friends?

[–]_BlueShark87 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No.

[–]elebrin 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Sure, when is that supposed to happen?

With modern families, both husband and wife work, and you still have a house to keep up and kids to spend time with. If you are going to have friends, they are either going to be people you know through your work (which is a bad idea), or you will see them 2-3 times a year. And that's if you have a normal 40 hour a week work schedule. A clean, well maintained house, yard, garden, and homecooked meals (in other words the things I consider necessary for proper living) are time consuming.

Thankfully, my wife has family that lives close, and I consider her father a friend.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Both my fiancé and I have parents that live 1.5 miles away.

[–]elebrin 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you get along with them?

We set up a weekly dinner invite with her father, he comes by most Thursdays for dinner, then we sit around and talk for a few hours about what books we are reading, and sometimes we play some music.

Would your parents come if you gave them a standing invitation once a week or so? It'd be even cooler if they reciprocated. My father in law isn't really capable of doing so in terms of cooking us dinner, but he works at a grocery store and likes to bring us food. He also helps us with our garden.

Your family members can be your friends too.

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, we get along for the most part. Her father cooks breakfasts and invites us over most Sundays, also for bbq in the summer. We’ll end up watching sports over there too. We don’t have cable at our house.

[–]elebrin 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There you go. Cultivate that relationship. They aren't going to live forever, sure, but it's a starting point, isn't it?

You said you have parents that are close? Start inviting them by as well.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good for your fiancé. But plenty of women aren’t like that. It’s a common female trope: the poor neglected wife because her selfish husband spends all this time with his mates! My own mother resented the time my father spent at his golf club on a Saturday.

[–]UneastAji 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The problem is when you are one of the first to get a very stable relationship, the others go out to find girls and that will displease your partner if you go with them.

ALso, last time I checked it's women who want their partner to be more available for quality time with them...

[–]Outrageous_Fondant12 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Na, my girl doesn’t care. None of my friends are single except one and he’s weird and doesn’t date. Everyone lives with their significant other. Idk how more available you can get.

If anyone’s significant other has a problem with going out with the boys or the girls once a month or every couple weeks, then I have bigger news for ya. He/she ain’t the one.

[–]Soft_Leather_Couch 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Or even just female friendship to begin with.

I had a female friend once that we were both into each other but I wasn’t ready for a relationship at that time. We really melded together, but then one day she just stopped communicating. After I pressed her why that was, she said it was because I took too long to ask her out, so she ended the whole friendship all together.

Imagine if a guy became friends with a woman just to start a relationship/get in their pants and ended it when they realised it wasn’t going to happen?

Oh, wait. WE ALREADY RIDICULE THAT.

[–]Suspicious-North98221 points 3 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Why would you be friends with one of them? 🤨

[–]Soft_Leather_Couch 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Um, because we shared the same interests and melded together well.

[–]_BlueShark87 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bros acting like women are aliens. Both genders are human.

[–]Hype-And-Style 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women can't have you having third party opinions giving you feedback without her knowing. She might lose you.

Hint: Only if she's bad for you.

[–]_BlueShark87 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s be ridiculous.

[–]bruh_bro_dude 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly why they feel so threatened by their boyfriends or husbands having male friends.

[–]EviessVeralan 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm I wonder why we don’t have male friendships after we have girlfriends or wives?

Married guys do have friends for the most part.

Maybe it’s because you refuse to let us?

Considering the majority of men (and women) suffering from a lack of a social life are younger single people this is a stretch. This is a generational problem.

[–]HotaruZoku 59 points60 points61 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All I could hear was

"Wah wah wah, it's super hard and totally unfair to deal with getting exactly what we've dedicated the last couple dozen centuries to making it clear we wanted."

It's "exhausting" to be someone's emotional everything, a fresh-off-the-press searingly hot take brought to you by the sex that INVENTED THE CONCEPT OF THE EMOTIONAL AFFAIR.

And let's not forget how blazingly self absorbed this article is.

"We'd REALLY like men to find intimate emotional support outside of just our relationship."

That's certainly thoughtful and kind of you, thinking of other people's suffering and wanting to end-

"Yeah, we want you broadening your emotional support not because it's healthy, not because it's good for you, not because it's a kind thing to want, but because we're really bored with doing the job ourselves."

In other words, you, the sex that claims near monopoly on empathy and sympathy, want men to improve their lives ONLY insofar as much as doing so would directly benefit /you/, and were our suffering NOT bothering you, you'd have no interest in said suffering one way or the other.

Check.

Got it.

[–]AwfulUsername123 59 points60 points61 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The most feminists will ever do to help with men's problems is say "Well, maybe it also hurts women a little..." Most of the time they pretend they don't exist or fight against fixing them.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is not about equality. It is mainly about man hate and the belief that everything is a conspiracy theory which is holding women back. They really need to change the defitinition.

[–]destructoMagiko1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Which is obviously projection because the conspiracy is actually that feminists control the entire world and try to ruin it for men.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They blame everything on men and patriarchy. And I never said they control the world. They are RUINING the world though.

[–]Chome_gnompy 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly lol. Running the world requires abilities such as foresight, responsibility, and the problem solving. All feminists can do is throw a tantrum.

Holy crap, the menslib thread on this article is a dumpster fire:

https://np.reddit.com/r/MensLib/comments/bk4d57/men_have_no_friends_and_women_bear_the_burden/

Just a bunch of men going "gee, I wish I wasn't such a piece of shit".

It's sad how if you scroll to the bottom of the thread, there's no one arguing against them or trolling them like what we have to deal with. Why do all of the trolls target this subreddit and not r/menslib, where they could actually be doing good by convincing these men not to hate themselves?

[–]meaty_wheelchair 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you linked this thread instead of the menslib one

[–]PactScharp 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That pathetic excuse for a sub disgusts me more than any (female focused) feminist sub. Unbelievable amounts of self-loathing. It's hard to feel sorry for these people when they're so clearly part of the problem.

[–]alelandi81 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

There are barely any men in r/menslib it's mostly women in that subreddit

[–]Chome_gnompy 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do all of the trolls target this subreddit and not r/menslib, where they could actually be doing good by convincing these men not to hate themselves?

Because ML is a feminist sub, which means all dissent gets banned.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A bunch of pussified entitiled bitches. It's not surprising to see feminists' slaves are passive aggressive towards men who are disadvantaged, as they are useless for women. Just a bunch of trash. Feminists and those kind of trash do not belong to the western civilization. They belong to the trashcan.

[–]Disastrous_Luck_ 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Just a bunch of men going "gee, I wish I wasn't such a piece of shit".

It's really telling how male feminists seem to assume that just because they're a socially incompetent borderline rapist incel that all men are like that.

[–]VoteConservative20221 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

There is a reason behind why feminists and liberals hate Donald Trump. They envy strong and powerful men so much. Hate is just another side of the emotional coin. They envy and love strongmen like Trump. That's why they hate him so much.

They envy strong and rich men like Trump, while they look down on "male losers" like them. Trash people. They basically want everyone to suck their ideolized feminazi pussies, if not you're a bigot.

[–]Disastrous_Luck_ 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You should touch grass.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More confessions from male feminists. For what it’s worth, I wish they weren’t “such a piece of $hit” too!

[–]rabel111 26 points27 points28 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Another feminist with a shallow and ignorant understanding of men and masculinity, femsplaining masculinity to men using hate speech better known for offending than informing.

This extraordinary sexist pig explains men's feelings, as if men feeling is limited to her unevolved experience of men. You see, men have feelings, they experience powerful complex and amazing feelings as witnessed by the great art, literature, poetry and music that is well known and studied by everyone, excepting feminist sexist pigs.

The reason sexist pigs like this feminist have so little exposure to men's feelings, is because of their lack of empathy and their brutal and callous attitude to men who express their feelings in her presence.

Men learn from a very young age that sharing their vulnerability and feelings in the company of some women is dangerous and results in challenges (how could you possibly feel like that!) and condemnation rather than empathy. The problem isn't men's feelings, it's women's lack of empathy, their brutal misandry and narcissistic bekief that they understand everything about men and masculinity without ever asking or listening to men.

[–]PactScharp 24 points25 points26 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I seriously don't buy this whole "men are so retarded they can't even express their emotions" narrative. And I find the idea that women are "burdened" by all this "unpaid emotional labor" (they call it "emotional gold-digging" in the article) to be absolutely fucking disgusting.

It is MUCH more common for men to be the default "emotional support" for their partners than vise versa. I'm not saying that men can't also rely on their partners (at least, I would hope so), but the idea that this is "only" or "predominately" a male on female thing is absolutely ludicrous beyond comprehension.

The difference is, men don't seem to complain about it. Because there's actually a biological basis for it. Men bond when vasopressin is released, which is a chemical that people produce when they are stressed. For women, it's the opposite, with oxytocin being involved with bonding, which is a chemical that's produced when they feel safe & relaxed.

In other words, what this article exposes is the blantant narcissism and disgusting lack of regard for men's emotional wellbeing, by the women in their lives... because the reason they are so "exhausted", if not disgusted, by men "using them as free therapists", is not because these men overburden them with impossible amounts of "unresolved trauma", but because these women flat out resent men for being emotionally vulnerable to any degree in the first place.

And what the fuck is up with this asinine idea that men "only" rely on their partners to "unload" their emotions? What a load of nonsense... Most men will relate MUCH more with the experience that sharing with their buddies is much less stressful & is far less likely to be dismissed, mocked or used against them (later on).

This article paints a picture of men as being emotionally infantile, if not parasitic towards women. It's a gross, vile, and unironically misandrist take on this issue... because the problem is not & has never been that "men are too stupid & fragile to express their emotions", but rather that NO ONE gives a fuck when they do talk, LEAST of all women.

As a man, if you don't have your close buddies, you are fucked. Period. Society won't care & whatever delusions these female writers have that women are men's greatest champions is nothing but a joke. Women are easily the biggest shamers of men's emotions & this article is proof of that.

For fuck's sake... I have friends who've opened up about feeling depressed & thinking of suicide to their girlfriends, only for these women to dump them a week later because "that wasn't very sexy". I've seen versions of this story countless times.... you know who was there when these men needed it? Their (MALE) friends... but that's all they had.

And all these lectures about "men avoiding therapy"... yeah, perhaps if therapists & psychologists (the article literally confirms this point) weren't systemically biased against men, maybe they wouldn't be so apprehensive towards it.

Clown world, we're living in. And you called it mate... men being more alone than ever? "WOMEN MOST AFFECTED". As per freaking usual.

Can’t agree more. My last gf specifically started more drama when I was depressed. And then she started going at me for not giving her enough attention.

Would you mind sharing more info on this?

I wouldn't put much stock in what this woman says about emotions or relationships. She's a self-professed "elderhoe" who wrote an article about fucking 7 men on one trip.

[–]ramao__ 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

WHOOP, THERE IT IS!

[–]redveinlover 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Men drain the emotional life out of women", just wow.

My wife was extremely jealous of anyone who got my attention instead of her, and felt threatened by everyone that I associated with. To try and maintain the "happy wife, happy life!" mantra that everyone kept telling me, it ended up costing me most of my male (and of course female) platonic friendships. And then one day she decides married life wasn't for her, and after 16 years together she said she felt that I had held her back from her true potential and didn't "let" her achieve her goals. For some clarification, she had severe social anxiety and couldn't hold down any kind of job where she had to interact with more than a couple of people (she could handle being on the graveyard stock team at Target, but as soon as she was to be trained as a cashier two years later she promptly quit without notice). She couldn't even call to order a pizza because she would clam up on the phone, I would have to do the honors each time. I couldn't spend time with my friends because for starters it meant I wasn't spending time with her, also she didn't like them. Looking back I'm not sure she "approved" of any of my friends, and said she always felt that she wasn't accepted by them. Well she never really gave them a chance to!

To think that this article is blaming men for unleashing their emotional baggage upon their female partners and having a detrimental effect on them as a result is just preposterous.

Maybe there's a bunch of severely emotionally stunted men out there who use women to dump out their feelings onto, but from my experience anyway between friends and coworkers it's largely been the other way around. I've had one relationship where my partner was fairly emotionally stable and available, and she discovered her dad had blown his brains out with a shotgun in the basement when she was 12. That's always puzzled me how out of everyone I'd been with, she was the most well adjusted.

[–]sekametelisoppa 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Damn man. What happened after? Did you contact those old friends and meet up? Or just continued your life free?

[–]redveinlover 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’ve contacted a lot of them, and they were really happy that I was free again. My first year post divorce was a huge change for me emotionally, having to basically rebuild myself. After going through what I did, I can’t say I’d recommend marriage to any other men. You can always have children without the contract.

Control if a woman is not controlling you she is not a woman. In the Bible it says a woman will be the down fall of any man that is coming from proverbs who warns the very young to be careful of a woman in his youth because she can be as sweet as a honey comb but in the end will lead him to destruction of his very soul.

I hate this subreddit at times because a lot of people want to defend womens feeling on a level that we are not allowed to say anything or have to step on god damn egg shells pisses me off so much at times.

What she said in that article has no bearings on the world as a whole it’s just her own damn bias experiences, but a lot of women would say the same if it made them take back control and start to shit on men again if it helped them get a let up.

I saw a post before this one about programming and said is being a woman going to help me get a job faster and am like wtf what about the men who want work to and someone said if they see a woman who is qualified over a man they would pick them because they need to keep a gender quarter and I was blown away to find out they really just don’t care about men advancing at all and it’s sad to see to say the lease.

I would give at least even odds she is controlling and worked to split him off from any support he had from his before her life.

"Kelly’s story, though extreme, is a common example of modern American relationships."

That's basically saying an outlier is representative of entire population.

Literally mathematically false 🤣

Oh no women have to care about the person they're in a relationship with. What has the world come to?

Last evening a beggar approached me asking for food. How more pressed can I really get?
