A woman I know (coworker) invited another woman out to lunch with us and mentioned before it I might be interested. I wasn’t. The girl wasn’t my type. That’s that. I appreciate that she tried. More than anyone else has ever done.

i’m a woman but i tried to set my (now) boyfriend up with a female friend before we got together! it definitely happens, and I kinda pre screened him as a friend before I was ever an attempted wingwoman

I've had female friends introduce me to their friends but not be wingwomen in the sense of helping me approach. Actually I never needed help with that. As a matter of fact, most of my female friends would have probably gotten pissed that I'm talking to other women and not them.

1) yes. In fact one wingwoman in college used to talk me up to the girls that might be looking at the same guy she was. She’d set me up and id go in and she’d take the opportunity to say hello to the guy.

2) yes. My best friend and I each had different types of girls we liked so it worked out well. We’d wingmen for each other.

Answer to Q1: A former female friend of mine tried to set me up with a friend of hers. My former friend knew what kind of women i'm into. So she tried to set me up with the complete opposite and i didn't find her friend even remotely attractive. Thats not the reason why she is a former friend tho.

Answer to Q2: I had a friend who tried to wingman me by telling the women stuff about me of how great i am. He sucked at it tho because much of the stuff he said was lowkey embarrassing and didn't help. Idk if he did it on purpose tho.

I've been a wingman for many friends, though, who are more shy about opening up new folks. Done it for men and women.

Yes, both, a lot. But its cultural. If a woman is not willing to provide sex, but is still willing to keep friendships, sheusually try to help the man as a wingwoman.

While men will use being a wingman as a good way to exchange favors amongst their friends and overall are very useful.

women acting as wingwomen to male friends is apparently not uncommon.

It is not completely uncommon, but its not common in the west/english speaking world (from what I could gather, I could be wrong)... as women are usually unwilling to help the men around them in any meaningful way. And even when it happens, its for the woman's sake, almost never the man's.

In most of the rest of the world however? it is very common, particularly in latin countries like mine. Of course, men will always be the most willing to provide help everywhere and be overall useful, but women, at least here, are not that behind, as they know their "male friends" cooperation is a 2 way street, and they must be willing to help him in being happy... or lose the "friendship" almost instantly.

No never, the guys I went out with when younger were all chads and very focused on their own game. Never helping me out.
