It’s only ever useful or helpful if you’re simply raising awareness for men’s issues. As soon as you’re drawn into a discussion of “who has it worse, men or women?” then people stop listening and dismiss whatever you say.

Not saying it should happen like that, just saying that it does often happen.

So you gotta steer clear of convos like this post. Raise awareness without comparing to women rights movement or feminism too music. After all, men’s right don’t matter because they have it worse or equal to women’s rights; rather men’s rights matter simply because men are human beings who deserve rights.

Each side always thinks they have it harder and the other one easier.

I understand sticking with that, it makes sense. I just wish more people would assume each side is telling the truth - that it's hard to be them, and listen to them. And I do say this while also accepting that men get listened to far, far less when it comes to any kind of painful social or emotional experience.

They try to act like benevolent sexism is as bad as malicious sexism and in some of the most warped cases will try to say it's worse. It's this kind of dishonesty that shows their intentions are bad.

I agree. Everything a man does, he gets criticized for. Also simply walking past a group of teenagers, you have to make sure you don’t accidentally look at them, because somebody will take it the wrong way and assume you are thinking of them in a dirty way, when really your mind is on hurrying up to get to the place you are going.

How insecure do you have to be to assume people are always looking down on you for being generous and helpful? How about showing some appreciation?

She can easily just say "thank you" or "no thank you." I don't yell at the Home Depot person asking if I need help finding anything. I especially do not get on social media to trash talk them.

You don't need to be on payroll to be a good person. The world needs more kind people and it's pathetic to shame people for wanting to help? It's insane to me.
