I believe our culture and the anti-male legal system have destroyed marriage. I prefer the lifelong commitment scenario, but how can we make it work when there is so much against families today?

I fully support lifelong monogamous relationships, with lifelong commitments. I see them as healthy and an ideal environment to raise children. But I cannot support marriage. Our government has destroyed that institution.

When the wife is incentivized to leave, it presents a great obstacle to the relationship that many cannot overcome.

Healthy relationships involve negative emotions as two people face challenges together. So when negative emotions arise, and there is a financial incentive for the wife to leave, it often spells disaster.

That said, it would be great to hear some of your views on how you guys approach long-term relationships. Do you give up on marriage? Do you go to the unfortunate extreme of getting a new girlfriend every few years to avoid common-law? Or should I give up on women entirely and buy a boat?

I'm in favor of the concept of life-long marriage, but not the institution as it exists today. Be great to hear some of your thoughts on it. Thanks.
