I need to rant for a minute. It seems like every since the sexual revolution happened, the dynamic between men and women in western society has increasingly moved in the direction of feminists feeling like they get to demand how men are supposed to act in their lives and demand that men only express themselves in exactly the way feminists want.
One area of life that this plays out is during the boys childhood, where various female figures of authority (perhaps his mother, female teachers or administrators or lunch monitors at school, aunts, etc.) shame the boy or treat him like he is being “difficult” for doing things that normal boys do when growing up, like running around, roughhousing with other boys, being noisy, and more. As a result, certain boys develop a “nice guy” complex where they subconsciously feel like they have to suppress certain masculine instincts and be the nice little boy that mommy wants them to be or else. They then grow up and enter the adult world with this personality and are completely at the whims of feminist bullies who continue to demand that men be exactly what they want (these demands are expressed in various ways, but at the moment it seems to revolve around telling men that their masculinity is “toxic” and something they have to alienate themselves from or risk being labeled a “misogynist”). This problem is only made worse by the painful lack of proper male role models available to boys today.
It’s all very frustrating and it is time that we as men stop letting these feminist bullies (which can absolutely include a smothering mother) tell US how we should be men and instead discover our manhood on our own terms, in our own spaces. What do you all think?
