We don’t live in a patriarchy!

A patriarchy, at least in the political sense feminists refer to, is a system where men are granted power of rule and women are not allowed to participate in the political process and in which men typically use their power of rule to advantage men over women.

That’s simply not our system. There are no sex based restrictions in the political process. Women can and do run for political office. Women have equal voting rights and in fact there are more eligible women voters than men. Feminism has much more lobbying influence on government than the men’s right movement. We don’t pass laws advantaging men over women, we do the opposite: we’ve passed many laws advantaging women over men.

Any argument based on patriarchy theory is an argument based on a false premise. Keep pointing out their premise is false and don’t debate an argument based on such a false premise. If you debate as if their false premise is true, you’ve already handed them a victory. Make people argue the facts, not conspiracy theory.

There are many good articles that address why men on average work more and earn more than women, it’s not due to any patriarchy. Learn these influences and respond with facts rather than patriarchy nonsense.

Ask for the civil code/criminal code (whatever it is) that explicitly states, in black and white terms, what rights men have that women don't. When they can't provide that, they will go to societal/cultural norms. From there, your opposition will say "it's a cultural phenomenon that men have more rights", to which you can respond, "But without any legal protection, you can take a lawsuit before a judge and you will get your equality through the courts."

From there, point out how much more men work (both regular and overtime hours), how many more men die on the job, how many more combat deaths are men (plus the fact that women, at least in the US, are not subject to the draft), and the fact that the suicide rate in men is 3-4x higher than women. Your opposition will try to pivot to "But women attempt suicide at a much higher rate!" Respond with, "That's the *attempt rate. Men actually die when they attempt. What would you prefer: to attempt to die and fail or actually die?" Point out how all this evidence shows men at quite the disadvantage and how if it were a patriarchy, men would make women do the dangerous work.

Good luck to you! I've had enough of these debates to know that anyone who uses the term "patriarchy" unironically will never ever change their mind through debate, so I don't bother anymore. I just leave and never speak with them about it again.

It seems to be used for almost every issue that affects women, so you won’t be spoiled for choice! It’s also used to justify any male issues, but with a spin to put the focus back into women.

For instance, the patriarchy is used as a reason for: not enough women in STEM, gender pay gap, glass ceiling, rape culture, women’s health problems, sexism at work, and so on.

I'm convinced that patriarchy theory is just a misunderstanding of left-wing political thought. So make a list of any oppression that comes from the men and women of the capitalist class, and there's your list of things that"patriarchy" is blamed for.

There is no societal patriarchy. When the feminists talk their boogeyman patriarchy, it isn't even a patriarchy. It's just classic case of feminists trying to twist meanings, like how they attempt to falsely describe themselves as fighting for equality, which is the goal of egalitarians and not feminists. Feminists are against egalitarians and our biggest obstacle. There is no patriarchy, it's like communism - the true form only exists on paper

The majority of feminist arguments are based on either old statistics or half truths. They refuse to ignore the recent statistical data and quite honestly I'm personally finding these so called feminists are instead mysandrists.

One of if not the most important factor is value. Keep in mind this doesn't mean ALL women but largely speaking women bring little into a relationship and when they leave they gain. They can't fix things, they can't cook, they don't typically make much money so they are of little financial help. Essentially women put all their value in the sex they can offer and often deny for control purposes. The new "boss bitch" mentality .. they feel they are a prize and deserve to be bought.

I've dated several Liberal women and the results were almost identical. They are brain washed and irrational beyond measure. Odd, I just telaized I have yet to find a woman that is Republican that is a feminist? Which begs the question, is it a movement about women or merely an extension of political ideology?

Sexualization and objectification of women, expecting them to have children and raise them, focusing on that instead of a career. Somehow enabling rape and abuse? Pay gap (which as you all know doesn't exist), doing the house chores while men chill, specifically certain chores like the cleaning and laundry...raising women to have interest on certain fields (of lower status and income) and not others, disregarding their preferences or innate talents. Enforcing certain relationship expectations and models. Promoting unhealthy and unrealistic beauty, and the use of make up and uncomfortable clothes.

And I guess there are many more things I forgot about.

Now, regarding what I think of all of this, some of these things are true to an extent just like how men are raised, socialized and expected to do certain things and not do others. Some of those things are actually their decission and they enjoy them, some things are completely optional, some are actually promoted by other women and not men...

I don't believe in a patriarchy, I believe in a system with an agenda and prone to control and manipulate the masses, to influentiate gender roles which are natural but also a product of our society. If I had to say which gender gets more benefits from this system it would be women, and at least for me, that's clear. I think women have their struggles too and are sometimes affected negatively or against their best interest by the system but hell, it's not a patriarchy by any means.

So the way I see it when they claim patriarchy. They are saying most world governments are male. Which are indeed true in the past and now. But To me it’s more about class warfare. Like men do have maybe slightly maybe more right but were still oppress. And the way the women right group they frame it as all the men supported this .

"Patriarchy" isn't real. It's a word used by feminists to justify their shitty fucking behaviour and attitudes towards men.

Giving it ANY validity, even a little, by humoring the concept even for a thought experiment is doing an injustice to all men.

I refuse to give it any validity. It doesn't exist. Never has, never will.
