This makes no sense, anyone can get breast cancer and refusing to give a mammogram to a person that has a growing lump in their chest seems horribly wrong.

I like how the "Only prostate cancer has more new cases" got stuffed in at the end and nobody blinks.

Breast cancer is funded at a 2:1 ratio compared to Prostate. My local area seems to have had a breast cancer awareness Summer, which was started off by a Prostate awareness Evening.

I always thought this was really messed up. Everybody has breast tissue, which means that anybody can get breast cancer. Females have more, so of course they're at a higher risk, but males are at risk nonetheless. I think insurances that cover yearly mammograms for females should cover them at least every few years for males, maybe more often for men with a family history of breast cancer.

The great thing about this news story is that once it received media attention, they were able to set up an appointment for him, so this man won't go untreated after all. That and the fact that it raises awareness for men being treated as something less than a woman.

It's good to see things work on in the end. I just hope his condition isn't too serious, and that it's something other than breast cancer.

Gents, this is one of the reasons we need to avail ourselves with information and pipe up wherever we can - because of the great publicity and drive about breast cancer it gets all the attention, almost making cancer a female issue. not only should we see our doctors more but we should challenge notions that we don't matter
