In what areas does the Mens Rights movement recognize female inequality?

I recognize lots of disadvantages that women have in society compared to men.

The important thing to me, however, is that there is a metric fuckton of organizations, people, and overall support for identifying and eliminating these issues for women but comparatively a tiny amount of the same support for men.

We have had a similar topic once before on things we are willing to concede to feminists. I forget the exact topic name but I think that was the main theme of the topic. The general consensus was honestly not very good but we did concede certain things the biggest I remember being that female gender roles suck, street harassment happens, and sexual discrimination happens and that these things need to be addressed. A few people agreed that people are trying to legislate their bodies via laws but their was some discussion over that since in their eyes it is not legislating the body but preventing murder but to everyone else it is a body thing.

Well there's some biological advantages like size/strength. These can translate to workforce advantages in careers like physical labor jobs, for example.

Also government is a lot more interested women's health, which while it does mean they sometimes get more funding overall, it also means they have to sit around while politicians quarrel of what they're allowed to get, which seems pretty frustrating to have it so volatile - good or bad, there's a new bill going around about women's bodies every month. Men's health issue don't really get much attention comparatively, so we don't have to expect things to possibly change, there's pretty no bills ever addressed affecting men's health.

Social standards of beauty/attractiveness - at least physically, seem a bit more rigid for women than they do for men.

Women in sports get radically less attention than men in sports, and it would be harder to make a career out of it.

I'm sure there's others, but that's all that came to mind right now.

Anywhere it can be proved by facts. I personally think that for many of the issues that mensrights brings up, there is often a corollary issue for women. Domestic violence, rape, work place discrimination, stereotyping etc are both issues for men and women.

Where men's rights comes in is that we have made great efforts to solve things for women (I think this is wonderful!) but we ignore men's needs. Partly because we believe men are so powerful and can just out man any problem, while women are seen as vulnerable and needing of support. Neither of these are true all the time.

At one point I can bet it was not okay to bring up women's issues but now it is completely fine and an accepted part of public discourse. For men however, it is still not okay. We are seen as whiny, angry bitter, weak etc and told to shut up, man up. Even in that long thread about male sexual abuse, many people reported that their rape was seen as funny or had people not try to stop it.

My personal hope is that out of mensrights and women's rights, a movement for gender equality will emerge.

Can you actually name any? I always ask but people rarely can give an example.

If you're female, and live in the first world, you face ZERO meaningful discrimination.

Second and third world however...

And even there, the discrimination women may face is rarely unique to being female.

For one, we as men are not invaded by the government as much. there is very very little regulation on just a male body where there is constantly bills trying to be passed to control a woman's body. I don't see any MRA's disagreeing with that.

As men we also have different career options (not better or worse, just different). For example, pro sports. But women also clean up in modeling and such, so it's a wash, just different opportunities though. If a woman is athletic and wants to make a career out of sports and entertainment, her options are massively limited.

mainly though, women are shorted when it comes to political stuff. More often than not they are the victim where men are not targeted by blanket laws as much.

It is a really hard question though. Our society is set up to help and prop up women. Social issues are very dominated by women (which is what most men gripe about) and women are often the ones put down by government doings (which is what a lot of women gripe about i.e. SB5 in TX, ultrasound before abortion and so on)

Men do have less legal restrictions pertaining to being a man and women are definitely getting more and more restricted by new laws, which is completely unfair and upsetting.

But I have asked this type of question to women, asking them what advantages I have and I don't really get anything back that does not pertain to government (this is when I get an actual answer and they don't turn the question into spewing out their own disadvantages)

While women are typically viewed as the gatekeepers to sex and relationships, men often hold more power. Men make the initial choice, and that is to approach a woman. She holds the accept/reject decision, but is limited to the men who ask, while a man can go ask anyone he wants.

That's of course a lot of generalization, but being socialized to take a passive role in the early stages of relationships can be a significant disadvantage.

Women that live in non western cultures face far more discrimination then western cultures. To be honest in the west there is no systemic bias against women that is really worth mentioning outside of maybe Texas. But there is systemic bias against males (in particular white, English speaking males.) as a result of feminism. But further there is a social bias against males beyond "patriarchy" that is compounded by feminism that causes a degree of social misandry. (man hating) Religion is bias against women .. umm I am having a hard time coming up with discrimination based bias here .. I do believe however women's worst enemies are other women and not men.

Sexism in films and video games is, well, kinda true, women are sexually abused more often than men, it's hard for a woman to get a job in hard phisical labor, sports and technology, aaaand.. yeah thats all i can think of.

Women in prison are more vulnerable to sexual assault than men in prison, both from other inmates and from staff, last I checked.

(Of course, men go to prison more and longer, but that's hardly much comfort when you've been tossed away.)

Mostly Africa and some of the middle east.

but I wouldn't say men have a real advantage over women, shit's just more equally bad over there.
