With the current media climate in Australia, if Abbott revealed he puts his trousers on one leg at a time it would be howled down as misogyny.

When the media were targeting Gillard concerning the accusations against her for misuse of Union funds, she too refused to answer questions. If only we could be presented with a better quality of politician.

Also note, the so called 'journalist' who is from the Guardian, is registered as a member of the opposing party, and her sister works for the Prime Minister. She clearly has an agenda, and having failed to get the result she wants, lo and behold, she pulls the gender card, not unlike how Australia's first female Prime Minister Julia Gillard (who was voted out by her party a few weeks ago) did on a frequent basis.

Admittedly, Tony Abbott (the politician who is being shown in the video) does say some ridiculously stupid things sometimes. However, every single thing he says or even doesn't say is overly scrutinised and a link to misogyny is attempted regardless of how far fetched it might be. For example, earlier in the year, Julia Gillard, facing a wipeout in the upcoming federal election, attempted to turn her fate around by pulling out her well used trick of bringing up gender issues out of nowhere in a speech. She claimed that 'men in blue ties' like those in Tony Abbott's party would outlaw abortions, when no mention of abortion policy had even been mentioned in years as it would just be opening a can of worms, an issue that has been too divisive for the nation in the past. This is typical practice of her, having previously made many claims about being bullied by other politicians because she is a woman.

Edit: For those asking about where in the article it claims Abbott is being accused of sexism, look under the description for the video. Also, this article was previously on the front page of the website (which is how I came across it in the first place), with link titled as something along the lines of "Abbott accused of sexism after telling woman to 'calm down'" or something like that, I don't remember. It's not on the front page anymore however.

...Is he being accused of sexism? I've been looking at the Twitter comments for that hashtag, and from what I saw only a few people were calling him sexist for it. Most people just... kept it vague, and said it was bad without explaining how.

So she was doing her job as a journalist by not letting him get away with avoiding the answer... social media takes up the mantle of saying it was a sexist remark... and OP tries to discredit her for what reason? And this relates to men's rights how?
