This is a very important article, which includes the manifesto written by the MSU shooter. It outlines the shooters frustration and isolation, and includes many of the topics that this sub has discussed.

I will say, as an educator who specializes in working with emotionally impaired students, that this manifesto did not surprise me one bit. In grad school, I wrote many papers about school violence, and the role mental illness plays. I was criticized by many individuals, including a professor who told me that these things happen because men are naturally violent and stunted.

The mental health community has purposely refused to look at the role that isolation and depression play in these violent acts. They are too absorbed with advocacy around the stigma of mental illness, and because of that they are blaming acts of violence committed by individuals as a result of other factors that they themselves don't identify with.

I do believe gun control plays a role here, but the left is just as responsible as the right in creating a system that doesn't address serious deficiencies with mental health care, particularly for men.
