Man is found NOT guilty of rape, but the cops keep telling his prospective employers that he "might" have done it anyway. Another reason why false allegations are so evil.

"Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young interjected, saying something along the lines of all men being rapists," he said in a statement.

"I responded by suggesting that if this was the case she should stop shagging men.

The biased story writing isn't surprising from the racist, sexist ABC.

[–]Gamersforge 74 points75 points76 points 8 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

This is a Churchill-tier response from the guy, he did the world a justice with that line.

[–][deleted] 66 points67 points68 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

And then followed it up:

"However, I am prepared to rephrase my comments. I strongly urge Senator Hanson-Young to continue shagging men as she pleases."

[–]SirPeterODactyl 22 points23 points24 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bless ol' m8 Leyonhjelm, his mouth has no filter whatsoever.

reminds me of this one time http://libertyviral.com/go-fk-yourself-you-communist-turd-senator-says-to-anti-free-speech-democrat/

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

haha, that's awesome. Short and succinct.

"However, I am prepared to rephrase my comments. I strongly urge Senator Hanson-Young to continue shagging men as she pleases."

LOL.

Is this legit? if that guy actually said that, that is a burn of epic proportions.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Quote from the article. Seems legit. The dude has no filter and gives no fucks.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

David Leyonhjelm huh? I'll remember the name and look into his work.

Sounds like a good time.

[–]ThirdTurnip -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No he's an idiot. All he's done is call her a slut without actually using that word.

It's a gift to the man-haters.

What we needed is a Mitch Fifield reply. His response to mansplaining was reasoned, insightful, respectful and absolutely devastating.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh get over yourself.

It was a great response and we need more of those types around.

[–]ThirdTurnip -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

His response is like pissing napalm onto the flames of gender terrorism feminism.

It's magnificent political capital which man-hating feminists will secretly be immensely thankful for.

[–]girlwriteswhat 23 points24 points25 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Reminds me of the late Rob Ford (former mayor of Toronto), when he was accused by a city councillor of telling her he wanted to eat her pussy. When confronted by the press, he said, "why would I want that? I've got plenty to eat at home."

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Reminds me of the late Rob Ford

Teflon Ford died?!

NOOOOOOO, he was the one politician in Canada that wasn't a cucklord....

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

His brother Doug was sworn in as the new Premier of Ontario today.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Awesome.

I hope he has the same "gives-no-fucks" attitude that Rob Ford had... every single time I heard a story about him, it was the local media trying to slander him somehow and him just being all "fuck it". It was amazing.

[–]originalSpacePirate 36 points37 points38 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Isnt the ABC government funded?

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

It is, though they recently pulled a lot of the funding.

[–]Pz5 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

They should pull of the funding. Tax payer money should not fund sexism. Let them do it on their own dime.

[–]Revoran 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Fuck off. The ABC is a national treasure.

If they're sexist and racist, then newscorp and 2gb and the like are basically hate groups.

If they're spouting misandry (which they didn't in this article) then they need to be reformed not axed.

[–]Aivias 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

newscorp

And how much tax payer money do they get?

[–]Revoran 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

In 2014 they got $882 million from the tax payer. They are an immensely profitable company but cooked the books so they could claim enormous tax deductions they didn't deserve. It's not enough that they avoid paying tax they owe, they also have to take money out of tax payers' pockets. Disgusting.

But really, they get influence and favours and power over both the Coalition and Labor, which is far more valuable than money.

[–]Aivias 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Madness.

[–]ThirdTurnip 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they're spouting misandry (which they didn't in this article) then they need to be reformed not axed.

They do sometimes, but I agree that this one doesn't seem to be an example of that.

[–]keepgettingdoxxed -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They've been doing it for years. Former head of channel 10 runs the joint. It's beyond saving, burn it.

And I'd appreciate you not calling a sexist, racist and left wing leaning institution like the ABC a "National Treasure". The snowy hydro is a national treasure, an institution is fleeting.

[–]Revoran 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'd appreciate you not calling for one of the greatest public institutions to be hocked off for a quick buck.

They've been doing it for years. Former head of channel 10 runs the joint. It's beyond saving, burn it.

That's the LNP strategy. Sabotage it and starve it of funding, then claim "look see publicly owned xyz doesn't work, it needs to be privatised".

[–]keepgettingdoxxed -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LNP doesnt control the ABC editorial team.

And I didnt say sell it for a quick buck

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They should, but at least it's a start.

[–]BetterOut -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It reports the facts.
Sorry if that doesn't sit well with you.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes. I actually pay for this shit, can you believe that? As a Leftist, it enrages me that my money is used to pay for liberal propaganda. Unless they start giving the Left and the Right equal time with the liberals, i say it's time to simply axe the ABC. Some are saying it should be privatized, and that would be fine by me. It might still be shit, but at least it would not be shit I am paying for.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Does not compute.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well of course, if these people don't lie, slander and libel, they won't have any stories to write because investigative journalism is an endangered career.

The ABC doesn't care what Leyonhjelm actually said, they just want something that sounds good (to them).

Mainstream media is a farce in the modern world, Australian media is no exception.

Everybody needs to stop for a moment and realise you are not reading the news, you're reading someone's agenda.

[–]soEezee 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They covered this again just now on jjj hack no mention at all of her comments until the very end where the host says quickly “she aledgedly said all men are rapist” then went back to the circlejerk of he should be fired messages.

[–]BetterOut 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I want a direct quote of what Sarah Hanson-Young actually said, not DL's interpretation of what she said. "saying something along the lines of all men being rapists" is not the same as her actually saying "all men are rapists".

[–]ThirdTurnip 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree.

Every word these well paid publicly elected figures say in that room should be recorded and freely available to the public for scrutiny.

[–]ThirdTurnip 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The biased story writing isn't surprising from the racist, sexist ABC.

They do seem to love demonising men, but I've been looking for any evidence of Leyonhjelm's claim being true - and what she might have truly said - and it's being reported exactly the same way by everyone as the ABC.

Anyone can google for themselves and see that.

[–]Revoran 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the ABC is sexist and racist, then I shudder at newscorp.

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points51 points 8 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

Another day in Australia. Feel bad for those blokes. They have the worst men's atmosphere on the planet right now. Followed by Canada and then UK nations.

America doesn’t have it great either

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

But America is more talk. Those other places have more policy.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nah, we've got plenty of policy/lobbying too.

[–]NaturalisticPhallacy 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but ours is fascist. The policies are pushed by massively powerful “private corporations” so my free speech rights don’t count and nobody even had bribe congress to abridge them.

It’s so much worse in its own way.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's fair.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I can see that.

[–]kartu3 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

But America is more talk. Those other places have more policy.

Oh, please.

Campus rape histery, "prepondrance of evience", "fuck me in the but" girl (also known as "matress girl") being women of the year, 1.4+ billion a year wasted on "preventing violence against women", Damore fired over toothless memo, Title IX and ever increasing "diversity" stuff, I can go on and on.

[–]ThirdTurnip 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Campus rape hysteria is just as bad in Australia. It just doesn't get media coverage. And nobody does a kangaroo court better than an Australian university.

The shit you're reading about now in US papers, I went through back in 2003 at the University of Queensland.

A gay man sexually harassed by a woman - up to the point of her explicitly threatening me via email for refusing to date her. That's sexual harassment. Not according to the university. Instead they aggressively prosecuted the transparently complaint she made against me and which she later confessed to being false.

My guilt was summarily assumed and I was instructed to apologise without even being told any details of her malicious complaint. By one of the staff members I had repeatedly complained to about this and other females giving me unwanted attention.

Even with her having confessed to it being false, they found me partially on the basis of a confession they falsely claim I made in a particular where I definitely didn't.

Bye bye career and PhD.

A federal magistrate ruled that I had obviously definitely been harassed, but not sexually harassed. I was run out of my job and PhD for nothing than not returning the affections of a woman but that's ok.

So technically in Australia it's not completely legal to be gay. You can be only so long as no "empowered" (i.e. won't take no for an answer) woman in the workplace decides she wants you.

[–]kartu3 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Campus rape hysteria is just as bad in Australia

Yep. Australia. Not UK, not Germany, but Australia.

PS

Sad reading the rest of your story.

[–]Fuckoff555 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Really dude? You're in a sub about men's rights , saying to a guy ,who is complaining about real sexist stuff that feminists are pushing in his country , where does he wants his victim card sent? Really?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yes dude. When you point out that a couple of places have it bad and someone comes behind you with some what-about stuff, that is a typical reaction. Yes things could be better here in the US. But it could be worse. It could be Australia, Canada, or the UK.

[–]kartu3 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

UK is not even remotely as fucked as the US.

[–]DepressiveVortex 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]kartu3 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh, really:

https://www.thelocal.de/20171227/metoo-debate-could-totally-sterilize-german-workplace-ex-families-minister-warn

Now tell me about a single case of a German student being suspended from University for having a drunken sex.

[–]ThirdTurnip 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what I said. How is that terrible?

Campus rape hysteria is just as bad in Australia.

It's true. This shit happens in Australia but doesn't make it into the media.

It certainly doesn't warrant your attack.

Fine, where would you like your victim card sent?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You were being condescending to men in a particular country and got called out and shut down on it. Your immediate response was to get snarky. Own up to your complete fuck up. Or Just unsub and get out. You're doing no one any favors by staying here. Or stay and keep being toxic. Thats probably the one you're going to do.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Condescending? Which particular statement? People come in all flavors. And you sure as shit are no gatekeeper. So stop with your "toxic" nancyboy talk. It does nothing for me. This was condescension btw.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

"Where would you like your victim card sent to?" Sorry, i should have said that in my first comment. It was pretty obvious you are too stupid to know what ANYONE else is talking about. And im good. I think ill keep calling you what you are (toxic just to make sure you know what i mean) since there really isnt anything you can do to stop me. Thanks for proving me right btw (sticking around and being toxic.) Explaining things to you is definitely getting boring though. Enjoy being dumb, toxic, and proud of it.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Sorry I shortened my statement too much for you to follow context. You said I was being condescending to men in a particular country. Which country and which statement did I make for you to say this?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you're too stupid to figure it out from the comment chain, you're screwed. Im sure as hell done explaining things to someone as stupid as you. Good luck bud. Sounds like you're gonna need it.

[–]kartu3 -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure US has it much worse than UK.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well as long as you're sure I'm convinced there kartu3.

[–]kartu3 -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tell me about my victim card too, fucking feminazi.

[–]Prince_pepe 44 points45 points46 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How is SHY still a thing? She is one of the dumbest mother fuckers to ever represent Australians and that is saying something.

[–]ThirdTurnip 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm glad she's there. Usually when she's making a fuss about something it's with good cause.

This leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.

Ms Hanson-Young recalls agreeing with Greens colleague Janet Rice, who at the time said the motion "puts the onus on women to go to extreme lengths to ensure our safety, where the priority must be to eradicate men’s violence".

As a male victim of female aggression (she's a convicted attempted strangler) forced to go to extreme lengths to ensure my safety, I'm disappointed by that statement.

[–]9IrVFQoly6yMi6 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m a leftie, one of the rare hard-leftists on this subreddit, and even I dislike SHY. She’s all talk and no action. No plan, no ideas... just shrill bullshit.

[–][deleted] 41 points42 points43 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

My dude isn’t backing down. Good for him.

[–]girlwriteswhat 40 points41 points42 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Did you see the footage of him confronting the domestic violence "experts" in a hearing last year? He asked them a BUNCH of tough questions based on proper research, and they had no idea how to answer any of them. They were just completely stumped.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points28 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All these lunatics hope people are too scared to fight back just based on fear of the accusation of racist/bigot/sexist, etc. But when they’re challenged with critical thinking they’ve got nothing at all.

Like when Jordan Peterson made that English reporter look like a complete moron a couple months ago. God, that was a thing of beauty

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This?

[–]Lethn 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young interjected, saying something along the lines of all men being rapists," he said in a statement.

It's interesting this even made it into the news, normally what happens is they say something like this. Somebody like us lot respond and take the piss out of them. Then they run to the media claiming they were harassed which is how shit like Gamergate ended up getting so out of control and turned into an all out war between feminists and gamers.

The fact that this is even being reported on in the full context is pretty impressive.

[–]gevander 29 points30 points31 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

If he accused her of saying it and she didn't, that would be a sexist slur. Did she actually say it?

[–][deleted] 71 points72 points73 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I politely asked her on Twitter. It's after 9 pm here, so it will all have to wait till the morning. My guess is that, even if she DID say it, it will be seen as no big deal. She insults all men, he insults one woman, yet he will be seen as the greater villain.

[–]gevander 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Probably true. :-/

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Indeed. Her spokesman pretty much admitted it when he claimed she said, "putting tasers on the street isn’t going to protect women from men," yet i see no media outrage about that.

[–]WillMeatLover 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What part is the sexist slur?

[–]iamanarci 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

According to this land whale feminist, everything and anything a man says is sexist and misogyny.

[–]gevander -3 points-2 points-1 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Probably true. ;-)

But doesn't address whether his statement was factual.

[–]WillMeatLover 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Answer the question please.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]Greg_W_Allan 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean, seems like he had a perfectly valid argument to her bullshit. Shes just wrong, its still more dangerous to be a man, about 20% more.

Also if told to fuck the hell off is shocking, lady, you've been living under a rock in Australia. We swear all the fuckin time you wanker.

Shes just wrong, its still more dangerous to be a man, about 20% more.

It's a lot more than 20%. Men make up about 80% of murder victims.

[–]1LegendaryWombat 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

its about 67% for australia or so. I'm just low balling it because if anyone actually bothered to look it up to prove me wrong, they would see its actually worse.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looks like 67% is about right. Unless the media is lying -- again.

Homicide (2012-13 to 2013-14) Males remain over-represented as both victims (n=328; 64%) and offenders (n=483; 88%- the lowest rate recorded since 1989–90)

Well, the world is a big rock, and Australia is on the bottom of the big rock, so I guess you could say that Australia is under a rock

I assume it's still relevant after about 20 years: Fighting Back Works: The case for advocating and teaching self-defense against rape.

Yes, women can be taught not to get raped. It's not 100% effective, but unless you're insane and think that society is actually teaching men to rape (e.g. you're a self-described feminist) then it's not a bad idea. Some men are just shits (as are some women, but who cares because biologically speaking they can't do as much damage).

[–]linkpopper 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's weird how they keep forgetting that people who want to rape, don't care about learning not to rape. Those in the 1st and 2nd world knows it's wrong, they just don't care. However, that method is effective to those in/coming from Third World countries, where morals and/or laws are different.

[–]proXy_HazaRD 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You can be taught how to try and prevent and try to avoid rape you can't be taught how "not to get raped." That wording kind of bugs me.

[–]El_Stupido_Supremo 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Defend themselves" is better. I roll ju jitsu with my gal so she has good ground game just in case. I also taught her how to hit someone multiple times with my face as the target. She wore gloves but by the third hit she had some power and technique. I'm not always around. She needs to know this shit even though her world isnt as dangerous as mine.

[–]killcat 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not just defense, knowing what sorts of situations, and people to avoid also helps a lot.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very true. Especially if there's more than one violent jerk to deal with. Situational awareness is also key. See a rowdy group a block away? Time to cross the street.

[–]PM_ME_UR_GCC_ERRORS 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But then according to her spokesman

she then made the comment "putting tasers on the street isn’t going to protect women from men", which Mr Leyonhjelm appears to be loosely interpreting as suggesting all men are rapists.

"She would not say that. That is not her view," the spokesman said.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess his interpretation was a little colorful, but everything is about factions with these crazies. Men vs women. As if men as an entire class are at war with them.

You know what makes it sound so misandrist? She could have said they aren't going to protect women from rapists, or muggers, or criminals. But she chose to identify them as men.

Pepper spray is illegal in Australia? That's pretty fucked up.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pepper spray. Tasers, pocket knives, slingshots, harsh language. We're pretty defenseless down here.

[–]superzepto 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But box cutters are two bucks at Woolies. Don't need pepper spray when you can open a main vein

[–]PM_ME_UR_PC_SPECS -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Most countries ban it. And Aus banned the AR15 because it looked scary. Seriously

[–]Lallo-the-Long 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What about things like bear spray? Maybe in Europe there aren't any large predators, but surely there are predators in Australia where bear spray would be effective?

[–]PM_ME_UR_PC_SPECS 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It can be used on humans, so illegal

[–]Lallo-the-Long 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's interesting. Apparently pepper spray is also illegal in Canada, but Canada is also like... Grizzly territory, so bear spray is legal.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

surely there are predators in Australia where bear spray would be effective?

Not really. Dingoes run from humans, and we don't have any predators larger than that. Except for sharks, and i suspect that a spray would be useless under water.

From The Australian: Liberal Democratic Party senator David Leyonhjelm says there’s “no chance” of an apology after he told Sarah Hanson-Young to “stop shagging men” during a vote on a motion on nonlethal means of self defence for women.

Senator Hanson-Young yesterday told parliament the LDP senator made the remark during a vote on a motion about arming women with Tasers to combat violence.

“I asked whether I heard him correctly; he confirmed he yelled ‘you should stop shagging men, Sarah’,” Senator Hanson-Young said. “Shocked, I told him he was a creep. His reply was to tell me to ‘f. k off’.”

Senate president Scott Ryan asked Senator Leyonhjelm to apologise but he refused.

Senator Leyonhjelm said during the vote on the motion Greens senator Janet Rice said measures like pepper spray and tasers would be unnecessary if men stopped harming women.

“And Sarah [Hanson-Young] is just across the aisle from me and called out words to the effect of ‘yeah, they should stop raping women’,” Senator Leyonhjelm told Sky News.

So she didn't say all men rape women. Get off your high horses, folks.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is there a transcript for this session?

The notion that "all men are rapists", and the idea that "advice on self-protection is victim blaming", whilst equally absurd, are still different things.

[+]Revoran -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

They're both fuckwits if you ask me. SHY with the "men's violence against women, men can stop rape" misandrist crap and Leyonhjelm... jeez where do I start. Stands up for our civil rights and free speech ... right until people direct bile at him and then he starts clutching his pearls. At least he supported gay marriage I guess.

As a lefty with libertarian sympathies, I'm disappointed in both of them. Babies sitting in parliament.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Did you actually read the article?

Issuing a statement defending yourself after being attacked isn't pearl clutching.

You also implied he was a hypocrite on freedom of speech and civil rights. Where was he trying to censor anyone or restrict civil rights?

[+]Revoran -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nah I'm talking about something that happened a while back: he defended a company who put cheeky messages and paintings on their vans.

Then when comedians parked their own van outside his house, with a cheeky message directed at him, he had a cry on twitter about it.

[–]Lynxz_ 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Lol this is so wrong. He 'had a cry' about them being directly outside his home, harassing his wife (before he got home) and him for hours and had to call the cops to get them to leave.

You make it seem like they drove down his street a couple of times.

[–]Revoran -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They weren't harrassing him or his wife they just parked there for a while.

He also lodged an 18c complaint for racial hate speech against him, after he criticised 18c for infringing on free speech.

The guy is a fucking hypocrite.

[–]Lynxz_ 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're the idiot. They didnt park the van and walk off, they stood outside his house for house shouting at his house. This is socially and legally considered harassment, and most normal people think its unacceptable.

As for the filing of the 18c complaint, it was a expressly political stunt to show the idiocy of the law and process. Specifically, he argued in his complaint that while he was not personally offended by being called a white male (or whatever it was) as a pejorative, the legislation only required that a reasonable person may be offended, so he asked the HRC to rule whether such an insult could possibly be offensive to some. The other point being made is the HRC didnt care about the legislation, only their interpretation of 'racism' - ie whites cant be victims of racism.

You're obviously not very informed on Leyonhjelm, since he spent the month of the 18c complaint laughing about it as much as possible on national television inc Skynews, ABC etc. The entire complaint was a case study in how stupid the HRC and 18c legislation is. Its fucking laughable you think thats hypocritical.

Leyon has the balls to invite Milo to speak in the Parliament house. He assisted a lot for the Red pill movie screening in Australia. He is much better than most mangina parlies

[–]Revoran 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Milo is a dickhead. But I suppose he's no worse than some of those in parliament so yeah why not let him speak.

mangina

Are we really still saying that? Fuck off with that sexist bullshit. Having a vagina doesn't make you weak. And politically disagreeing with you doesn't make someone less of a man.

[–]iamanarci 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Will someone tell me why these LEFTIST REEE-TREADS think all this PC bullshit is going to change anything?

I mean Harvey Weinstein for crying out loud. Ok. You got him! But do you REALLY think you've done him any good? Do you REALLY feel like the world of 7 billion people is that much better because you crucified one bad guy?

Why are these people so intent on burning down the world?

They aren't changing people. That starts at childhood. They're just creating a hostile environment for everyone to live and work in.

Edit: a typo

[–]Revoran 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Most Australians (whether left or right or up or down) don't know who Weinstein is.

[–]katelin 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They're just creating a hostile environment for everyone to live and work in.

That's their goal. They think that by creating an ever-more hostile work environment (hostile towards men, mind you) that it will give them all the money & power that they crave.

...And for a while, it probably will. But that won't make them happy.

They are like the Sith, they've given in to their Dark Side in their lust for power and with that only comes hate and anger, but love and happiness will continue to remain out of reach.

[–]originalSpacePirate 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not to mention excludes those who are actually doing the hard work and making the company profits. So they'll enjoy success and profit for a very short duration as they replace men in top positions, realise the ungodly amount of stress and sacrifice required for the position and leave in favour of focusing on family life and less responsibility. Companies will reap what they sow

[–]katelin 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually count myself lucky that I figured this out before it was too late, but most of my female ex-coworkers (I quit) still haven't and not only are most of them still single, but their facebook and twitter streams have been increasingly more vitriolic towards men which... surprise surprise, likely drives any decent men away, thereby keeping them perpetually single, angry, and depressed.

When my first son was born, one of the women I used to work with and considered a "friend" posted a comment on my facebook photo of him saying something along the lines of how my son had "male privilege" and how he was just another potential rapist in the world. Keep in mind this was back waaayyyy before Trump (years before), the #MeToo movement, etc... so you can imagine how much more toxic and unhinged this woman must be now.

Imagine saying that about an infant. I mean, WTF!?

Between that and the shit my husband has had to deal with at work in regards to completely unhinged women throwing baseless accusations at him and/or other male co-workers, I do not envy men in the work place. It must be a living hell for a lot of you. And the thing is, my husband's employer refuses to fire these women because they are desperately trying to fill their quotas (they are trying to reach 50% women and they are at like 11% and only gaining about 0.5% per year).

Irrelevant. Even if he has been wrong on other things, he is right on this one. Her own spokesman admits she said, "putting tasers on the street isn’t going to protect women from men." Charming.
