too bad this doesn't fly around here (sweden).

many schools have quotas that are nicknamed 'positive discrimination'. for example, in many technical field schools have X spots for whomever the people in charge feel at disadvantage.

it's not uncommon for example that a female student has a technical school as her 3rd or 4th option, so if she fails to get her primary options, she then takes a spot from someone who could have been there and really wanted to go to that school.

to that the people in power just say 'well, he should have studied more'. meanwhile they gave the spot to someone, who wasn't even that interested and may even drop out if they find something better.

An expert evaluation committee had looked at the three candidates, and had concluded that Franzmayr, who at the time was already the head of one of the two sections being merged, was the best candidate for the job.

However, the ministry still refused to accept the ruling and said they were obliged by equality laws to offer the post to a woman.

That's not equality, that's inequality. Equality means picking the best candidate for the position regardless of gender, skin color, sexual orientation, ethnicity, whatever. It doesn't mean throwing meritocracy out the window and promoting someone because they have a vagina.

Im so sick of this "positive discrimination" bullshit. It just shows how the system is still sexist and racist to this day.

The administrators running these things legitimately believe that blacks, latinos, women, and gays are literally less competent than men. From my experience in the non-PC real world this is complete horseshit aside from manual/brawn based labor like construction where most women (and men these days) don't posses the physicality to do that job.

I was recently rejected for a grant, along with several colleagues at my school who display a significant amount of merit and prestige in their work. The person who received the grant was a girl who's work is ultimately mediocre and it's pretty clear she puts in a below-average effort. She was also the only "person of color" who applied for this grant.

Afterwards, everyone involved in the competition as well as people outside the competition pretty much called the bullshit like they saw it. White savior bullshit from the faculty. Perhaps also a little bit of jealousy and resentment toward the more gifted hardworking students and "putting them in their place" so to speak.

Now, I have nothing against the student. This is a great opportunity for her and I hope she cherishes it. However, I have totally lost faith in the faculty of my college. There's a few good gems here, but most of them are identity politicians devoted to holding people back and parading mediocrity.

This has happened to me. I had no legal recourse (Australia) and any attempt to ask why this woman was promoted in front of me was meet with allegations of sexism and inappropriate conduct. Six months later the company manager that authorised the promotion to his department was openly telling investors that he only hired her for her assets (tits). She struggled in that department untill she quit after they refused to support her position. It's just a really fucked up situation. A few days after she quit he has a new girl. This bloke was objectifying women and using them for his amusement and the guise of acting for gender equality. The entire debate and cultural movement is so toxic and infallible that he used it as a cover to keep a steady supply of female teens in his office while being lauded as progressive.

at my previous job, we had a female VP who went out on maternity leave. the company gave 4 months paid, and she was taking vacation and unpaid to round out 6 months of leave time.

a few months into her leave, her senior VP boss quit, and they promoted one of her male peers into the Senior VP position, and she lost her shit. Suddenly this woman nobody had seen or heard from in months is in the office stirring up shit, having closed door meetings with HR, but screaming so loudly everyone could hear.

She felt SHE should have gotten the promotion, and was claiming she was being discriminated against because she was on maternity leave. She literally wanted to be promoted while she wasn't even working, into a new position that she had no intention of doing for months yet to come. This is how deep the victim complex and sense of entitlement runs for some people.

TL;DR Guy who shows up for work gets promoted, woman who doesn't show up for work is pissed off about it.
