For me, this stuff proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that we DON'T live in a rape culture , if we did these people would never think to falsely accuse someone because they know it would not hurt them so there would be no point.

Richardson was arrested on May 28 last year and later charged with perverting the course of justice. She admitted 10 counts at Salisbury Crown Court and today (September 30), she was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

6 months per count...basically nothing.

One of the men even agreed to have a GPS tracking tag fitted to his ankle which would send an alarm to police if it was destroyed or taken off. On a number of occasions, data from the tag was analysed and showed he was not in the area when Richardson said the attack had taken place.

This is what it's come to. Men agreeing to be fitted with a tracking tag to prove their innocence when a false accusation is made.

I feel like it might be a good idea to have false accusations of rape carry a similar punishment to robbery, because false accusations ruin lives
