The part where it says it will make them effective allies...? For women.

Male privilege is invisible...? Telling men "You got it better than you think. Women totally have it worse!"

Reduce sexist attitudes? As if we are sexist by default?

Doing as they recommend will make us participate in Social Justice? And what, make us Democrats?

What if Republicans controlled the APA and wanted women to learn to be more conservative? Lol.

This is feminist lingo 101.

Worse yet, since when it is acceptable to take someone who needs mental help and shame them and blame them for the problems of society, and downplay their suffering compared to others?

Seems a bit counterintuitive to me. Unless... the point is to make men feel worse and not actually help them? Pushing an agenda over helping people sounds good.

You’re misinterpreting what they’re saying as nefarious instead of helpful. I personally see a lot of guys for whom that kind of therapy would be helpful. Seriously, look at what I said: a man who thinks that part of manliness is being in control is in a car crash (maybe he lost control of his vehicle, bc humans cannot physically control a ton of metal at 60 mph, nor often physically react fast enough to prevent a crash), or maybe he got ill, or had a heart attack, or got old, or whatever. Suddenly, he’s in the hospital and as dependent as an infant on other people to do everything from eating to shitting. Traditional masculinity says that not only is he temporarily physically fucked, he’s also not a man because men aren’t dependent. that fucks some men up, and then they get depressed and think that the world is better off if they off themselves. They think that their grandkids are better off without a grandfather than with a crotchety grandfather. It’s fucking sad, and it’s because of exactly what the APA is saying it’s from.
