I have lovely girlfriends, I really do, the only thing that bothers me day to day when hanging out with some of them is them falling into the trap of being “sexually liberated”.

I saw it happen with my own two eyes, one of my good friends met this guy on tinder, had over 2000 matches and 30+ hookups that he admitted to her on their first date and she still went and had sex with him. After that she told us he wanted no strings attached and she kept going with it. And now, she’s heartbroken because she asked what they were and he said he wasn’t looking for a relationship and it “wasn’t a her thing, but a him thing”.

But then they’ll turn around and tell me to “lower my standards” or i’ll never find a boyfriend.

Thanks.. but due to past experiences I’d rather be single than casually date or be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t meet my standards.

They might be high, but they’ll protect me from mistakes I made in the past. I feel so sad that I have to defend my view on relationships to some of my friends as if being picky about who I want to share my intimate thoughts, my stories and my body with.

No thank you.
