They love to play dumb and say we didn’t communicate.

[–]pawg_patrolFDS Newbie 100 points101 points102 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely this. I know my relationship is over when I stop wanting to have sex with him. And it’s always because he stopped trying in all the other areas.

I think it's because men never cared to begin with, and as soon as they can drop the facade they will. It was just the 'cost of entry' to them and the moment they can revert to their lazy ways, they will.

They don't take us seriously because our anger is 'cute' and our feelings are just a quirky byproduct of being feminine. That's why they're so surprised by our fury. They didn't take it seriously until it hit nuclear

This! Thank you for putting it so well!

I still feel rising fury at my ex who never took my worries/requests/anger seriously. It wasn’t until I asked for a divorce that he said “I didn’t think you were serious until now”. Meanwhile I’d been living out of home for four months already. The “communication” had happened for at least five years until then. Ugh.

Yeah, we're just a joking cartoon character until the divorce papers hit that table or the bags are packed by the door

What tf is up with them not wanting to go on dates?? I've been through that too, with multiple boyfriends. Just could not comprehend why those guys didn't want to do anything special with me, create nice memories, put in effort, get dressed up, etc. I have this specific, sad memory of asking my then boyfriend if we could please do something nice, go out for dessert, it's Saturday night and I want to do something lovely with you - but he was too tired and busy with computer games. That shit hurts. Especially when they are all too happy to fuck you at every opportunity. Truly: if they want to they will, and if they don't they won't.

You hit the nail on the head.

Yep. I was in a 15year relationship and felt trapped. But then again, I always felt trapped in relationships, that’s why I’ve had so few. I realize now it’s bc the men stifled me, were ungrateful and made me do everything. I was just so tired. So now I’m not accepting that and feel encouraged about dating again.

[–]Maude2010FDS Newbie 91 points92 points93 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I feel suffocated and overwhelmed in relationships, which is why I’ve never really had one. For awhile, I sought out casual relationships because it was the only way I could have a relationship without feeling like I was losing myself. But I don’t want someone who feels casually toward me, and doesn’t value or respect me. So I stopped that. I truly don’t think men are capable of the kind of relationship I want. So I stay single.

[–]tellmesomething11FDS Apprentice 37 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Same. At first, casual felt better bc I could easily walk away, but eff that, I feel casual relationships are sooo low vibrational. Now I recognize those feelings of suffocation as me avoiding red flags, a lack of compatibility, etc etc. I’m in a self care phase right now, I don’t have time for a man, but eventually I will date and I won’t allow those feelings to occur again.

[–]pickadaisyFDS Apprentice 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

YES! I realize now I felt suffocated in my past because I knew a guy was wrong for me!

[–]onceuponaseaFDS Newbie 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wow I can so relate to this and wonder if this is why I’ve always felt suffocated and not bc I have a “avoidant attachment style” thank you for sharing this!!

[–]tellmesomething11FDS Apprentice 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You’re welcome! It’s not always as simple as a diagnosis. There are some men that I absolutely never tired of; never felt like I was avoiding intimacy, but their nature to abuse and gaslight me turned me tf OFF! So I felt trapped. The right person will not make you feel trapped.

Relatable.

They are capable and choose otherwise.

Ditto multiplied by 1000. I was exhausted from over-functioning and getting less than nothing in return.

Yep, women get bored with the LVMs porn habit, whining about sex, emotional stupidity, unwillingness to care for home a nd kids, etc etc.

Actually, not bored. Just downright repulsed. But because "relayionships are work!" And "marriage is a commitment!", we delude ourselves into thinking there is something wrong with US for not desiring our pile of shit male partners.

And not seeing the correlation between being a piss poor husband and why your wife never wants to touch your dick

[–]thowawaywookieFDS Newbie 108 points109 points110 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's just not worth it.

Men are pretty much boring, selfish, and lazy after those first few months when they were actually trying to impress you.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 30 points31 points32 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amen to that. It's like a winter jacket coming off

[–]randomgirlimokFDS Apprentice 81 points82 points83 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men regress into children when in a long term relationship and that is not sexy to me. A woman might get fat in a relationship but at least they don’t tear their toenails off in the bed or have shit stained underwear or let their pee go all over the floor and need a chore chart in order to get them to help around the house.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's so right. Men's gross isn't the same as women's gross.

[–]jasmine-blossom 68 points69 points70 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

In all of my previous relationships, I lost interest in sex and/or could no longer have sex bc of pain, which was really just my body’s way of reacting to emotional distance, feeling unsafe or unloved, and other issues in the relationship. The men I dated either started treating me poorly, or stopped taking care of themselves/the house/our relationship. Why would I feel desire for someone who so obviously didn’t care about my desire?

In my current relationship (no cohabitation, defined boundaries on time), I find that the sex has remained stable (exciting, pleasurable) long after it started to be a problem in previous relationships. This is because I’m not thrust into a caregiving role (we both have independence and both support each other emotionally), I still trust him, he still treats me well and is making an effort to please and impress me, and our emotional connection is still active and in depth. I can’t imagine living with a partner again; I love living alone and I am not capable of doing someone else’s chores in addition to my own.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yup! What a coincidence eh

[–]jasmine-blossom 24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Crazy, right? Us women and our fickle bodies and minds. /s

The funniest part of this was that I thought for the longest time that I was the one with the problem, that my body was wrong, and that I needed to fix myself. Why wasn’t I happy? Why wasn’t I interested in sex/why wasn’t the sex satisfying anymore? I took it all on as something wrong with me, and didn’t realize that it was the relationships that were the problem.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So did I! I thought for years that I must have physical issues and I should try harder. Nope, it was a shitty relationship.

Now I realize that like you, I never want to live with a man ever again because it's the fastest route to quiver killing

[–]jasmine-blossom 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m so sorry you had to go through that process, I went to the gyno so much during those times trying to figure out what was wrong!

[–]dembar126FDS Newbie 66 points67 points68 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And yet we still don't cheat as much as they do. 🤔

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

and there it is!

[–]onceuponaseaFDS Newbie 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Boom. You said it.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points50 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Plus women are groomed into dating older men and as soon as the lust spell wears off these young women realize they're laying next to a saggy, grey, no-energy, receding hairlined senior.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 37 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who doesn't even respect them

[–]OrcristaFDS Newbie 32 points33 points34 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm 37 and my longest 'relationship' was 4 months. I haven't dated for 2yrs now. I usually go long periods between dating and don't realize until someone asks me directly if I'm dating or when last I dated. I don't miss it.

I'm well aware that I get bored of men as soon as I get to know them. The ones that lasted 4 months consisted mostly of me convincing and talking myself into it.

I am straight. There's nothing I can do about that. But the older I get, the disillusionment I've always had about men, just get more entrenched the more experience I have with contact with them.

[–]millennialpink2000FDS Disciple[S] 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a year younger and haven't dated in over 2 years either. I know we're not missing much. It's just not worth even bothering. A HVM will drop in my lap via my own activities if that's what fate wants
