Consenting people can do what they want. When I was 21 I was with a 38/45 (I don't remember which)year old. My body my choice. If later on I'm 38/45 and with a 21 year old same thing.

I am reminded of the infamous affair between then-POTUS Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Clinton is nearly 30 years older than Lewinsky, but that was seldom mentioned in connection to their adulterous relationship. It was well-known that the two were "consenting adults", but the criticism of Clinton's behavior was not that he had sex with someone younger than him, but that Lewinsky was Clinton's subordinate at work (power imbalance), that Clinton cheated on his wife, and that Clinton gave false official statements about his behavior (which is the alleged crime for which he was impeached)

To say that Lewinsky or anyone else, regardless of gender, is incapable of consenting to sex with someone because they are older, is to infantilize them and to deny them their agency.

I think the people objecting to older men sleeping with younger but legal aged women are transparently motivated by jealousy. It's not a coincidence that the most bitter denunciations are coming from women who are past their peak.

They're stupid and hypocritically sexist(both in terms of misogyny and misandry). The idea of a maturity gap is laughably ridiculous on the face of it and has no basis in reality when it comes to adults. Girls mature faster than boys so there isn't going to be much of a maturity gap here at all.

Is that guy why I suddenly see stories everywhere about 14-year-old girls with 'relationships' with 20+-year-olds? Because that is quite a different situation. Regarding the reversal of gender: I don't see why one would be worse than the other, especially because women always seem to claim that they age faster than men.

In theory, because of the differing rates of maturation, a young man with an older woman is more abusive than a you woman with an older man. In reality, unless there is some form of authority/power involved, people can sleep with whoever they want. There needs to be a cutoff line to say "this is where you are responsible for your own decisions" and that currently is set to 18. Unless those complaining about your example want to move the age of consent?

I'm a college age(18 and a half) guy and I think it's creepy but I won't shame consenting adults. I also personally find women who are too "physically intimate" to be creepy and unconformable.

It weirds me out a bit regardless of which sex each person is and I certainly wouldn’t encourage it. Having said that, consenting adults have the right to do what they want with their own bodies, so I don’t see why it’s any of my business.

it really depends how that woman went about it and how she treated those men. If she was famous, and she was actively searching through social media to find young guys that were her fans, then I'd say that's kind of predatory and fucked up.

Which is exactly what D'elia was doing, I think. Not saying it's rape and he should be locked up, but it's fine to call him out on it.

I can shed a tiny bit of light on this. When I was 19 to 20 I hooked up regularly with this woman that was reaching 40. My personal theory is that women, much like men, hook up with younger men because they mirror the people that rejected them when they were younger, and they feel like they are that age again.

With older men however, they know they have an advantage in the dating game, usually they are more established, better financially etc. Women however, arent as wanted as they were when they were in there 20s, so they have something to prove and get a bit of a kick out of "stealing" a young man away from the young girls around him. So they work extra hard and on the flip side, sometimes they become exceedingly manipulative, because the idea of having a younger man as a partner is not only fun, but a reminder that they are still desirable. It also counts as a separation from the norm so it's kind of rebellious to them, adding another layer of why they desperately will try to keep this guy.

Older men and younger women however have been a dynamic since the beginning, so it's more of the status quo. Women for the most part seek older men (age ranges vary greatly) so they are much better equipped in handling the dynamics, and they have alot of friends and family that have done the same so they have more info on the matter. Also I can say for sure, that more women like older men then men like older women. An older man doesnt feel like some rebellious aspect while dating her, and I dont think he thinks so much about the dudes her age.

What's my conclusion in all this? I find that women going after younger men in some cases can be MORE creepy and predatory than Visa versa. That's because what a woman seems to gain from having a young man is more along the lines of social, spiritual, and sexual gratification. So they will employ more manipulative tactics to make sure they can keep that man. Older men however, I believe they only think as far as that for casual dating, they have the advantage, and they like how young women look and not older women, and they have the upper hand to get these type of women more easily.

Happens in every town in the world, and has done since the beginning of time. Once both parties are adults with sufficient mental ability to live on their own if they have to, it's all good.

I'm very unsympathetic to puritanical attitudes to age differences.

I don't think sleeping around is creepy on either front. Some younger people want to sleep with more mature/developed bodies. Whatever.

Where it becomes creepy to me is when they want to start relationships. Then I worry about manipulation and grooming on either gender, but I think you're right that the general public only cares when and older guy is courting a younger girl.

Well, the way you frame it is a strawman because chris was aggressively pursuing high school girls. For when older women do this, which happens a lot, I view the behavior just as bad but don't feel much sympathy for the teenage boys. For the boys I feel like their lust is being taken advantage of whereas the girls get deceived and manipulated. I get how that's misogyny on my part but that's still how I see it.

I would think she was a creep and it would be the same if an older man was dating a college age women.
