I was married in Vegas. She's definitely legally married. This may have a big implication on your divorce case in your favor. Continue talking with your lawyer also might want to reach out to the ex and say hey you're still married.

Update: Had a meeting with my lawyer today. She wants to do more research but it my better not to disclose this knowledge at all. We need to be certain of the financial ramifications of married/not really married scenarios. I'm self employed and she has a 401(k). There are some marital arrests like our residence and a rental property.

But, the laywer is ready to file as soon as I give the go ahead.

Meeting with therapist tomorrow.

Update: It took thre STBX a week and a half to read the filing papers. This is to say it took her a week and a half to realize I am seeking primary custody of our daughter. She of course suggested we not use lawyers and do it ourselves and save the money. I said no, talk to my laywer. Then she wanted to know why I'm seeking primary custody. I said no, I'm not talking to you. Talk to my laywer. That was last week.

Tonight she wanted to know if I was seeking primary just to hurt her (I'm absolutely not doing that) and how hard that would be on our daughter. She would never do that to me, she said. And we're going to spend all that money for a judge to probably not agree with me, she said

She doesn't want to face a judge because it would expose her and make her face realities about herself. She also has mentioned the money several times. I don't give a shit about the money. I'm going to be broke as hell for a while but it is what it is.

I know that I'm right. I know I'm the more stable and suitable parent. My counselor has told me as much. I'm not scared of the future for anyone other than my daughter. I'll get her the proper care when she needs it and be the emotional rock she'll need.
