Male lurkers that are being respectful about it are fine. The obnoxious ones with a victim complex are definitely annoying, though. As if it’s the end of the world that someone doesn’t agree with them, or, gods forbid, dislike them in any way.

Or, worse than that: not care about them in any way, as if one persons indifference cancels out the friends/family/etc they already have.

I think some of the male lurkers do it to see what women actually want. But yeah.

I had a "hi" message from an account and when I looked the time of when the account was created and when the account messaged me, it was the same. I don't like to talk to people in PMs as a rule so I didn't respond. I assume it was someone trying to "gotcha" me and forgot about it.

A couple days later I got a different chat request and saw that the account then had a NSFW sign on it. So I thought maybe he messaged me something and Reddit flagged it? I don't know how Reddit works honestly. But I looked at his account. He had since started using it to post on NSFW boards as a sissy looking for women to berate him.

So I could be wrong but my theory is some dudes like to see men get scorned on here.

It's one of the reasons I try not to partake in male shaming. I mean, I didn't think of it before, I just don't see much point to it, because I don't think it works. But now I'm like oh they're getting off to being shamed? No thanks.
