I would report this to the police as stalking or a threat. Don't post it anywhere else. Just go right to the police and say you have legitimate concerns of harassment.

This to me seems like some sort of feminist action group. It's intimidating, but in a rather passive way. If it were some scary dudes, it would not be a nice little letter you were sent.

That being said, I would prepare for the worst so firstly inform the police. Let them know about this letter, bring your phone and laptop and offer to show the police your online activity.

Secondly, pull your boss aside and let them know the full story. It might be embarrassing but it would be much worse if some random calls your boss and says whatever made up jargon your ex spews. This can save your employment and also gives you a reliable witness if you are ever in court over this.

Explain the situation to your family and wife, which I'm sure you have already but in case you haven't, it's a good idea to let them know.

if you are friendly with the neighbours, even if it's a morning wave or a hello as you pass by, you should also let them know the situation in case they start spreading rumors about you in your neighborhood and possibly they can help dispel anything they hear from their neighbours.

Lastly, protect yourself online. Change privacy setting on all social media and change passwords.

Other than that, I wish you all the best and I hope this blows over very quickly and painlessly.

With that history, she's probably been keeping tabs on you and it jealous in some way that you are about to get married and have a child. This Is psycho behavior if it's been four years without contact.

Protect yourself, and I agree with a police report just to have some kind of documentation of her behavior of anything goes down.

If you are Facebook friends or have any kind of social media contact, cut all ties. If you have mutual friends on Facebook that are friends with her, cut contact with them. I get the sense that somehow she's been keeping up with you, any other person would forget if it's been four years without contact. Stay strong, good luck, brother.

i) Who are the "people" exactly. The word "people" could include everyone on the planet, or the just the "people" who live next door. She has failed to identify exactly who these "people" are.

ii) She has no right to tell anyone not to bother anyone else. Granted, bothering people is not cool. However, some people interpret disagreeing with them as bothering them.

iii) "We will be checking up on you" - So, She lectures him about stalking, then admits she will be stalking him.

iv) "good boy" - did she assume his gender?

v) "next notice will not be as easy as this letter" - thinly veiled threat, I hope this letter was reported to the cops.

I'll provide a translation of the entire letter, succinctly summed up in one sentence "How dare you move on".

Any red-flag laws would prohibit him from "gunning up" to protect himself from this obviously insane woman.

Sure, weapons are a last resort. Even non-lethals like OC spray are desperate moves (but often better than anything fatal.)
Remember that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. They can also not be relied on to correctly separate aggressor and victim, when the aggressor is male. So in the end, you must protect yourself by any means necessary.

Just don't go past necessary.

That letter will likely contain electronic forensic evidence. Most consumer printers spray a tiny dot pattern that’s barely perceptible to identify the individual printer it came from. If it was printed by a printer that she owns, then she could be caught and prosecuted. Speak to the police and they can speak to USPS to see where it was posted from and possibly who posted it.

At a minimum be sure to file a police report.

On a side note: Social media is bad. If you’re happily married and such, consider ditching Facebook, Twitter and the like. Stick to communications tools (e.g. WhatsApp, Skype) and public forums instead.
