For those of you who were upfront before marriage and not willing to negotiate on having a prenup, trusts, and strategic legal separation (before the marriage, as crazy as that sounds), did it backfire on you? If so, did you regret it and would you do anything differently?

I get the idea of taking a risk with someone when you marry them but I have a goal in life and I'm willing to die and live alone for the sake of it. If someone has the same goals then that's cool too. I take care of people I consider family and I would never screw over anyone I love even if they screwed me over. But I won't budge on long-term planning in advance.

I plan to have all of these planned out so that everything is legally lined out. Then from there, I can go and we can do all that fun stuff, choose to have kids if we want to, and I'll get them whatever they want no problem, and I'm cool with dividing up the work and all that fun stuff. That's just what I'm not willing to compromise on.
