The "you benefit from it, so you can't condemn it" argument: No. The reason I was able to be born is that many of my ancestors probably didn't hesitate to murder, or even commit some kind of genocide of earlier inhabitants to gain land and space. I benefit from it with my existence. Still, I condemn murder and genocide and would not want to be around people who carry them out.

The "you contribute to it so you can't condemn it" argument: Yes, to a certain extent. For example, person who consumes meat contributes to the existence of a slaughterhouse. So yes, it is hypocritical to blame slaughterhouse workers. We need them and we directly create the need for them.

But few people want to have a slaughterhouse in their home. Or personally kill the animals. That's why they pay people to do it for them so they don't have to do it themselves and keep the awkward steak-eating part as far away from them as possible.

There is a difference in recognizing the need for something in general and wanting to have it right at home or wanting a person who does it for a partner. Just because you recognize the need for sewage, it benefits you and you even contribute every day, you certainly don't want trash and feces to flow right through your apartment.

Do you think drug addicts love drug dealers? You can consume something and understand that it's not good for you and that the people who produce it aren't good people. Hell, I like soda and fast food, but I know it's bad for me and that the people who make it have profit in mind, not my best interests. This is no different. And this isn't to say that porn stars and onlyfans content creators are evil or bad people. They're just providing a service that some would argue is objectively unhealthy.

But yeah the most evil thing about OF is how they pretend it's a great way to make cash and try to groom young women and sometimes men into doing it with the promise of money when 99% of the creators don't make a dime. I think it depends on what you mean by talk negatively, if that’s saying things like I don’t want my partner to have an OF past or present, and especially never been in the porn industry then that’s pretty normal, ie. it decreases their value as a partner.

I also wouldn’t lose any sleep if OF got shut down as a platform since I’ve never used it but can’t say the same for porn

I agree. The success of Onlyfans and sites like it have encouraged more girls than ever to lower and reduce their own self worth. And yes the people that buy into it are at fault. What else annoys me however is how these 'models' play the victim card even though they had the choice to sell their souls or not. Then continue to blame the people buying their shit even though they themselves put themselves into said position.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that those who consume then complain are yes hypocritical, but not on the same level of those who produce content then complain.
