I saw this in University. A lot of students paid me to do their homework. I tried to do every assignment with the exact same effort and quality. The men consistently got 82%-84% while the women often got 95%-97%.

I tried to question everything - was it possible I was putting more effort into women's homework because I was more scared to disappoint? The more it went on, the more effort I put in to make sure I was doing everything even across the board, yet the results stayed the same.

I'll never forgot when the teacher called out one of the girls in class, claiming she has the best report he had ever read. He celebrated her successful very openly in front of the whole class and asked if she wanted the chance to speak about it, but she obviously declined.

Interestingly, this pattern was true across all classes, whether the professor was male or female.

At my music class, the teacher would always give a general grade and ask the class if they think it deserves higher or lower, when the entire class voted higher for a girl they got 1.5/10 higher yet when it's a boy it's only 0.5/10 and reversed when it's lower, also everyone had to play on the drums for a grade and answer questions about it, 1 girl had every question wrong and played very poor and got an 8 while a friend of mine had every question right and Played very well but also got an 8. He got fired later, not for this though, he was an alcoholic

Had a feminist English teacher who did this, all the girls in class got high 90s with poor writing and the guys got mid 70s. Lucked out though when the final exam grading was anonymous and guess what, the marks reversed and I got a 90 🤔 Wasnt just the grading either, she was just straight up mean to the guys in her class while treating the girls like angels.

"From a young age, boys are less likely to raise their hand in class to ask to speak, they are worse at waiting their turn to speak or engage in an activity, they are less likely to listen and pay attention before starting a project," says the study.

And as they get older, boys are more likely to "start withdrawing in class and becoming disengaged".

Jee, I wonder why if the classes and teaching styles are completely not tailored to them in any way and punish them why they would become disengaged

Girls just are always favored more. It’s been like that for years. All of my teacher’s favorite students are mainly females, and not to mention the majority of people that make up teachers are also females. I only have one male teacher, just to put that into perspective.

Hmm makes sense.. I never thought of it tbh. Although I feel like girls are encouraged to be more book smart. I had shit grades personally but definitely outperformed all those perfect a student's once life started despite forming a meth addiction.

I was once frustrated with a writing teacher who gave my gf 88 across the board and me a 78.

So one day I wrote hers and she wrote mine.

I got a 70 and she got a 95

So the next paper was about stereotypes, bigotry, or prejudices.

So I wrote about that situation and started getting 90s for the rest of the year

The school grading system in general is moronic if you think about it. 50% is an F, a failing grade, meaning that there is zero difference between 0% and 50% and all numbers between the two. Its effectively like if you were able to go past 0% into negative numbers.

When I was in middle school 8th grade (1999) we had a black, female teacher for World History... Very first semester she down the line gave every black girl an A, black boys a B, white girls a C, and white boys a D on our report card... A bunch of us went to the principle and reported her.. She was promptly investigated, fired and replaced.. Less than a year later she was arrested for embezzlement from a different job and trying to leave the country with a suitcase full of stolen cash...

Education is openly hostile to boys, so this is not surprising.

The good news is the education system will become completely dismantled very soon by the rise of A.I. and the democratization of information.

Companies will be forced to abandon degree requirements and pivot to skills based hiring if they want to survive. Kids coming up through the primary school system now will have unprecedented access to tools and technologies that 5 years ago were only available to students at elite institutions.

I was talking to some of the lads on my class about this the other day. Even as someone who is aware of this, I find myself being both stricter and harsher with grades with boys. Although sensitive boys tend to get treated more like the girls. Some of it comes down to the sexism of just expecting more of boys.

This does a lot to lower the legitimacy of educational institutions act by act. Since in the real world there is a pretty wide gap.

A possible interpretation is that neuroticism, a feminine (but not exclusively so) trait, goes without enough challenge, so is baked into society in increasing amounts. People start to play to assumed emotional fragility.

I never experienced this, myself. What I did notice is that the teacher liking you helped with your grade if it was something subjective. I personally don't think the teacher even noticed themselves, but they at times gave me higher grades even though my work was somtimes not much better than some of the people they gave lower grades to.

There needs to be anonymous grading. This isn't just happening with gender, but also race and disability. I'm deaf and my brother is a dark skin black boy. We were both given lower grades when we did the same as the other kids. Teachers are bias.
