Hi Brothers,

I write this to you all asking for some insight on how best to recover from losing 65% of the equity in the house that I paid for, as well as the fact that I hadn’t paid into my pension fund as the house was meant to be our nest egg upon retirement.

I’m 53 this year and I’m left with virtually nothing fiscally, but by Christ I’m a very happy boy emotionally.

I’ve just finished a 10day holiday in Thailand, catching up with old friends who had the sense and money to retire. I’ve decided I’m heading back there to retire.

I start a new job on Monday morning, which will allow me to put more into my pension. I would like some ideas of how some of you older boys have come through with being able to retire comfortably after losing so much of it?

What can I do to come back out on top again?

All advice gratefully accepted.
