I don’t care. Women don’t want to date men who are married or otherwise lying about their relationship status. In my opinion, OLD has brought a new level of risk to society and I don’t blame women or men for attempting to ensure the stranger they like is actually single.

But I also don’t care if spies infiltrate the group and report the posts to concerned parties, either. Exposure has been the primary hazard of social media since social media consisted of MySpace. Use social media and OLD at your own risk.

In principle I have no problem with women trying to identify men who are cheating on them. In practice I find such venues are prone to abuse as we similarly see with MeToo, allowing women who dislike a guy to tarnish him with unfounded claims. Just because a woman says a guy cheated doesn’t mean he did and even if he did it is only giving one side of the story.

In general, you're as free to talk about them as they are to talk about you. But if someone has talked about abuse, I would be highly cautious about potentially putting them in greater danger through sharing information with a potential abuser (equally, if a person in the group shares information that they may have abused someone, I think you have a duty in some sense to discuss it with the relevant party).

Sex workers regularly share clients to make sure men aren't abusive, and I'm not sure why women in general can't do the same. A man shouldn't be able to assault 50 people before other people find out about it, and the criminal justice system is not helpful at all. Most abusive behavior never makes it to criminal court.

I understand why men who do weird things would be apprehensive, like if you compulsively lie to have sex with women, like most of the men on this sub claim to do, you could get exposed quickly.

So no, I don't think men should be able to weirdly retaliate, especially with respect to the issues straight women vs. straight men face in dating

One of the good things I know about seeing posts as a normal man is that I get to see what is being posted and talked about in the groups and what it is that women are trying to avoid in dating.

I want the groups and any apps that might spin off from the groups to be taken down. If people are given the ability to crowdsource information about other people, it could lead to a huge lack of privacy and trust in one of the most intimate areas we deal with. However, if we do that, we need a massive overhaul in resources given to women(and men) looking to avoid abusers, dangerous partners, and cheaters.

Maybe good men need to step up, get out there, and start approaching women confidently and respectfully. If the dating market is filled with bad men simply because good men left the dating world being scared about being falsely labeled as a 'creep' or 'danger', but bad men aren't scared by MeToo or the adverse effects of modern feminism, good men need to step up, dilute the presence of these awful men, and make it unjustifiable to have a public database to discuss private individuals.

We need to fix the dating world before it eats us all alive. I will continue asking questions, doing research, making sure that if these groups get taken down, women have adequate face-to-face screening techniques to avoid cheaters, assaulters, and abusers.

It isn't ideal but I do feel it is probably necessary this happens at this time for a variety of reasons. Dating apps were a massive change in the dating scene and increased the risks of certain dynamics that I think most of us agree are less than ideal. The absolute worst of those dynamics such as serial assault and serial exploitation of various sorts and lengthy and complicated scenarios of multiple people being played very much need to be dealt with by changes to systems such as the apps themselves and law enforcement but thats not going to happen unless people are kicking up a fuss and creating some chaos.

I certainly believe that people often say shit that isn't warranted or isn't true and slander and libel are wrong. I myself have been the victim of being lied about by an ex. It's terrible. But a lot of things the info sharing sites try to address are also terrible.

Basically things are in turmoil because of change and nothing is going to happen unless people are attempting to on some level address it themselves and the social, legal and economic structures involved find those attempts unsatisfactory but impossible to stop because of the overwhelming need that something be done.

Normally I would be against tarnishing someone’s name but with more and more men lying about commitment and stringing women along the more this becomes a necessary evil. I think it’s probably best that men don’t know about it because I don’t want men to change their behavior just to not get caught anymore. I want good men to get rewarded and bad men to be isolated.

No, that's not OK at all. As a guy with a closed sociosexual orientation (i.e. who wants a stable, long-term, mutually loving relationship and sex only as part of that, as opposed to casual sex which I have zero interest in) I can only say that:

I see no possible justification whatsoever in the act of blatantly violating the trust and privacy of another person by publishing their private communications, pictures or any private data - anywhere - without explicit prior consent… even worse if it's a (potential) partner who as such trusted private data to the person who then turned out to do such a thing
Any person who would do such a despicable shit immediately loses all my respect, totally irredeemably disqualifies themselves as a potential partner, and is immediately considered a total piece of shit that cannot be trusted.
Also: depending on where you live, it is totally illegal (e.g. I live in the EU where it would violate a number of legal rights and would have severe legal consequences for the perpetrator)
